For all my bitches and bros and non-binary hoes. 🏳️‍⚧️

Focus here is on manga where either a main character is trans or a significant story arc focuses on trans characters and issues of trans identity. Otoko no ko and crossdressing series will be ignored unless there are explicit trans messaging in there. Likewise, gender-bending series that approach sex change on supernatural terms (Boku Girl) or through sci-fi mechanics (11-nin iru!) will likely be ignored unless there's some sort of grounding element that makes queer identity explicit. Finally, any series that's just like, blatantly transphobic (F. Compo) will be ignored. Some wording will be vague to avoid spoilers.

In order:
- Claudine! (1978) - Transman protagonist
- Stop! Hibari-kun (1981) - Transwoman love interest/deuteragonist
- Paros no Ken (1986) - Transman protagonist
- Double House (1998) - Transwoman protagonist

Happy Pride Month!

These are some series that I have read/am reading. That are either centred around LGBT+ stories or has significant LGBT+ characters.

I did include Nagata Kabi's other works I haven't finished, just because I really enjoy her work and I'm planning on reading them soon anyway lel

I also do plan to add to this list as I read more manga :)

Manga that have shaped and influenced my becoming the person I am. Some I no longer agree with in their philosophy or ideas, but listing them here helps me to see where my head space was in my past and who I am now.

**Some are BL or Shounen-ai titles

Interest stack for those who grew up on the internet, in particular to ways the internet has changed them. List of manga is particular to what you might've learned or experienced with becoming a person.

Coming-of-age refers to the process by which a child becomes an adult. These manga showcase characters who make the transition naturally, or are forced to grow due to outside pressures. Learning about one's self, about others, about the world, and what society requires from adults, are all common themes of coming-of-age works.

Manga about protagonists that's lives changed for the better due to a change in how they see the world, themselves and those around them, though there are some that must go through hardships before they are able to change.

The change in these protagonists aren't instant and some of the included protagonists take a long time to change or just have a more natural gradual change that is more apparent once you have gotten further into the story.

🔹Queer person here, with the intention of creating a list of manga on the topic, including about the manga in general as a piece of media and art, how it handled the characters being LGBTQ+, how much does it lean on the most overused or distasteful tropes.

🔹I basically just want to make it a bit easier to find them and know what kind of quality to expect.

🔹Disclaimers/Notices:

⏳ I actually need to reread some of those since I've read them a long time ago, but in those I'll be leaving a note on the description so it's known.

🏳️‍🌈 And also I'm just one person, of course different LGBTQ+ people will disagree with somethings I say here.
Feel free to respectfully correct me via message.
For characters not explicitly labeled on the source material, I either left it vague or used the closest label I know of when talking about it.

⚠️ Some works have some triggering topics, but, as a general warning, a big chunk of those deal with some kind of bigotry and the main characters having to deal with it.

🔹 More heavily problematic titles, will be placed more towards the end of the list so it's easier to avoid.
