Synopsis

Zip up and get your robot on! A new type of robot-action series! World-famous handsome mechanical engineer Koshiro Tatara and scary-looking musclehead Kaname, these polar opposite twins both fell in love with the same girl's smile. Since then, they compete daily to see which of them can make her smile more. But one day, tragedy suddenly strikes Koshiro... Zipman doesn't deserve a 10, it's just that it deserves a better score and reputation than it's been given by other reviews and its general score. I wanted to give it a small bump so that others could give it a shot.

If you like the art and impactful moments of My Hero Academia, you'll absolutely love the first handful of chapters, and maybe a few moments sprinkled throughout the rest of this short-lived manga. The creator worked under MHA's creator, and the inspiration is clearly there.

What you should expect is to really love it at first, then realize that the last 75% of the manga ...

This series had a ton of potential but from what other reviews have said and what Ive seen online the series apparently got cancelled. This shows from around chapter 5-6 and the pacing after this point is utterly terrible. This is probably not the authors fault due to cancellation but this ruins the fights and story progression. The pacing seemed rushed from the start but it didnt get to the point that the story started to suffer until around this 5th chapter point.

This manga is created by the author of Yoakemono and unfortunately shares many of its flaws with it. In short, this is a manga that doesn't give enough screentime to any of its characters to really develop any particular emotions for them, but has outwardly nice art to look at and pretty solid character design.

The main protagonist could be interesting if everything lined up correctly, but we aren't given enough background information on him to care beyond very minor details. The character personalities are very weak, which was also a problem in Yoakemono. Outside of the protagonist, nobody has enough screentime to feel any emotion ...
