Whether fantasy or a modern setting, these center on blackened main characters who, after having their morals tainted, aim to exact revenge on those who wronged them. Unlike their male-protagonist counterpart, the female-centric stories tend to feature less gore, but they are not excluded from it. For the definition of Otome Isekai, please check out r/OtomeIsekai. PLEASE DM ME IF I MISSED ONE I AM ALSO REACHING THE MAX LIMIT OF 50 SERIES Manga that either have weird ideas (maybe even morally wrong/illegal), topic that not many people are interested in (eg, niche game etc) or low rating but are actually quite decent. Manga that are underrated and/or underread. A lot of these are much better than they are credited for, some due to being uncomfortable. Or they might just not be that well known despite being absolutely amazing. A list of manga/manhwa that has revenge as one of the main focus, does not need to be the only one though. The Shojo and Josei manga licensed by Yen press continued This is a list of Shojo/Josei manga where Female Friendship is centered on at least 50% of the time or more. Some honorable mentions that do have prominent female friendships, but in my opinion don't quite meet a minimum 50/50 ratio would be: Fruits Basket, Kimi ni Todoke, Daytime Shooting Star, Chihayafuru, and Ao Haru Ride. I'm defining "modern" Shojo and Josei manga to mean anything that began being published in 2013 or later. Obviously personal taste plays a role in whether you'll like something. I'm also trying to focus on Shojo and Josei manga licensed in English officially, so some excellent stories will sadly be missing from this list (they should probably get their own at some point). |
