Both series take place in late-modern Europe, and slowly show their queer protagonists struggling with (and ultimately rejecting) their societies' heteronormative expectations. In a genre so constricted by the implication that sapphic feelings must be somehow lesser or more transient than heterosexual ones, this explicit rejection of the "platonic, sisterly, just a phase" class-S ideal is very refreshing to see.

They explore deep emotional connections and the complexities of love, often delving into themes of longing, separation, and the struggles of maintaining a relationship.

Both great girls love story. I think they both have an emphasis on accepting yourself as you are and not as you should be, though Rose Garden has more of an emphasis on the relationship while Bloom Into You has a greater emphasis on the character growth. Both fantastic.

Both of them are historical yuri and both show very sweet and caring relationships between the main characters. Both have a lot of the same themes but Her Tale of Shim Chong goes deeper into what life was like for woman and people of different socio-economic classes and focuses less on LGBT issues compared to Sayonara Rose Garden.

A period drama taking place in early 20th century about two women who drift together by fate despite a difference in social status as well as pressure from societal norms and familial meddling, with a secret that ties them together.

A master and servant relationship.

Both have a historical setting and feature a main character hiding their identity from the other main character. Both also feature a primary plot about perceived societal norms and expectations about marriage and the negative effects enforcing these societal norms and expectations on homosexuals can have on their mental health.
