Turning Point tells a story about a relationship between a young man whose future is undecided, and a man whose life has taken a wrong turn. It's definitely the best work by Takanaga Hinako I have read so far. The main characters are interesting, the art is great, and the story about their relationship and the problems they encounter is very good and convincing. Sakuragi as a character into which we have most insight is really amazing and realistic. Although Imamura does have a certain feeling of 'familiarity' and cliche about him, he still works perfectly in this manga.
What I enjoyed the most was the
...
development of the main character, and the way his messed up life and the desire to start over have taken the best of him. Sakuragi is the strongest point of this manga and he is one of the best developed characters I have encountered.
This love story would work just as well if one of the main characters was female, and it would be just as good. I think that's not something I could say about many yaoi mangas.
