Sickening.Pure...sugar..diabetes.. and a fair amount of cringe.
The dirty little secret of shoujos - this series is. If naivety, pretty boys, and truly wholesome energy is what you need, boy this is the drug-- I mean series for you. It's been awhile since I've read any wholesomely pure series, but this easily tops all romance series when it comes to only pure clouds and sparkly romance. The story sometimes fails to navigate the trappings of shoujo cliches properly, but I can forgive it because MC's expressions are absolute gold. The characters and plot might not be anything new (except that the boy is the protagonist for once) but the art just hits the comedic beats in all the right spots that it's hard not to smile sometimes. If you're looking for some tooth-rotting fluff that doesn't take anything too seriously then give this series a go.
Note: The 2nd ML subplot is the most frustrating one so far, but gets resolved fairly in my opinion. YMMV tho. |
