Ones that I think stand out among the rest and do something different. There are many supernatural mangas that I love, however, these are the ones that not only do I love, I consider them truly unique whether that be referring to the world setting, story concept, or characters.

The level of "darkness" for each series varies. But most of these are not your typical wholesome fantasy series.

A list of series I've read or am currently reading that feature Yandere characters.

My personal list of worthwhile stories with yandere female leads. The stack has three rules:
- Female romantic lead is an obvious yandere or shows clear yandere like tendencies. By that I mean that girl's yandere tendencies cannot be a twist warranting a spoiler tag.
- They are still a romantic lead, instead of being a rival or a mere antagonist.
- The story features an actual romance with a yandere.

That is to say, this least contains a very broad spectrum of genres and will be updated as I keep going through my reading list.

Finalists are listed in the following order: Main List, Unique Art/Story, Should Be Anime, Best for Beginners. Every title is officially available outside Japan in at least one language, with one or more volumes published in 2023.

Most of the manga series mentioned will be lesser known or the ones which are ignored by the masses and falls in obscurity

Manga that feature characters who start off as weak/average but who slowly grow to strength and prominence within a series. Or, characters that go from weak to strong.

Just some Horror Manga so you can cuddle your girlfriend or Mom. Some of these (almost every) will be with Gore. There might be some Manhwa don't blame me but i think they have good horror vibe.

Awesome reads for the dark lonely nights

By “up their own ass”, I’m talking about those protagonists that go on and on about morals, justice blah blah blah. They usually give long lectures to the antagonists (and the reader) about being a good person or whatever. Many of them are VERY whiny, which is an extra minus. It makes them seem like they’re always on a moral high ground, thinking that they are better than everyone else. They are usually seen as “flawless”, it’s really sloppy. I’m not gonna give any examples of those (jk, Tanjiro is a perfect example of being up their own ass).

This list contains battle shonen that have refreshing protagonists that don’t constantly lecture others, enjoy.

Manga/Manhwa where there are central non-romantic relationship(s), ie friends, teacher-student, something in between etc but not family/found family, I have a different stack for that

Some of these may have romance as well but it's not between the main characters and/or it's a subplot that often doesn't result in the characters actually getting together

Not on MAL:
-Susu, Han: About a pair of estranged siblings reconnecting, and their group of friends. Good comedy and drama.
-The Competition: About a violin competition, has friendships and sibling relationships. Good drama.
-The Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood: A group of outcasts become friends. Great comedy.
-Our Time: Adorable friendship between a boy who can stop time and a girl who can only be free from her coma in his stopped time.

A stack ordering the manga with the best cast of characters to worst in terms of writing and just likability. It’s all subjective but here’s what I think. Time to trigger half the community.
