What's the best way to deal with existential angst? Lesbianism, of course. This is a collection of manga series that juggle yuri and philosophy effortlessly.

Manga that're strange, confusing, ridiculous, seem surreal, are overly silly, where the abnormal is normal, are very high paced, or may simply make you go "what?". Anything ranging from gag comedy to gore, all with various levels and types of absurdity.

Maximum of one title per author.

Mangaby mapodoufu

Manga that pose philosophical questions to the reader in low stake settings. The best manga of this genre are able to do this in an unpretentious way; conjuring up the feeling like:-
- a dazed shower thought
- taking a long walk at sunset and pondering the why.
- child like curiosity of the world
- things that make you go ‘Hmmm’.

Actual kino. None of that boring mainstream bullshit for pseudointellectuals. Manga that you pick up, read, and think "that was fucking awesome/cute/silly/depressing".

(This title is obviously a joke enjoy what you enjoy this shit is just stuff that's stuck with me the hardest!)

Mangaby yeagerpilled

Manga with characters that are canonically/heavily implied to be mentally ill and also treated like real humans rather than freaks or villains. Each manga has at least one character in the main cast who is neurodivergent.

This stack is for any neurodivergent manga fan to try and find something they can relate to without feeling like they're a bad person ^_^

This is the original The Knuckleheads' Hall of Fame.

These manga have been judged by The Knuckleheads and found to be good. This taste in manga is 1000% more correct than the elitists. Legends says that if you watch and like all of these manga, you have good taste ,and your IQ is in the negatives.
Any of these manga can be voted out of the list, and if that happens, they will be removed from the stack.

manga that are abstract and/or weird in terms of story and/or art. reminiscent of urban graffiti and scrawls of notebook sketches and diaries. list is merely just shower thoughts, there are lists better than this with more variety. for the dead minded.

"Often considered to be untranslatable, mono no aware refers to the bittersweet realization of the ephemeral nature of all things. It is the awareness that everything in existence is temporary. The fleetingness of youth, the fading of romance, and the changing of seasons are not to be mourned, but cherished and appreciated in their impermanence, for that is where their beauty comes from." The term "denpa" means electromagnetic wave and is used to refer to people whit strange beliefs or delusions. In manga, the denpa genre often includes motifs of technology, character's who are outsiders in mundane environments, and a surrealistic, but often dark, tone. Common themes include dissconecton from one's surroundings, anxiety, and paranoia. Many denpa stories fall into the horror genre, but a manga doesn't have to be scary or depressing to be denpa.
The denpa genre is very popular when it comes to visual novels, some notable ones being Saya No Uta, Wonderful Everyday, and YOU AND ME AND HER.
(More manga and LN's will be added soon! Feel free to send some rec's that you think could fit whit this list!)

These are the best rated "manga" on MAL by chapter count, starting with 1 chapter, then 2 chapters, then 3, and so on, all the way up to 50 chapters. "Manga" is in quotations because it actually includes anything - manga, manhwa, manhua, novels, light novels, one-shots, etc.

If people are interested, I'll make a part 2 showcasing the best manga with 1-50 volumes or best manga with chapters 51-100, or the best for each type, e.g., best manga, best manhwa, etc.
