Both series are all about love triangles. Love triangles are the very premise of the manga, with the main focus being who the main character will choose. Will it be their first love or someone else? I will note that the two have different approaches to the love triangle, with Tiger & Dragon focusing more on the antics of the girl and her two pushy love interests, while FutaKoi is more about discovering feelings and learning about dating through the love triangle. Either way, if you're a love triangle enthusiast, you'll really appreciate both series.

Both stories tell how the relationship between the main couple gradually evolves. The love story between the protagonist and the second male choice is more interesting and well structured than the love story between the protagonist and the first male choice. If you like stories centered on love triangles this is your tea.

Two shoujo manga with the ikemen type and cuter girl. Romance is more interesting between girl and second option rather than her first option. Romantic feelings are based less on surface level observations and more on encounters over time.

These two series taught me to appreciate love quadrangle drama and the messy interplay of friendship, love, and hurt it entails. Love triangles are compelling and suspenseful with no obvious winner at the start, forcing characters to carefully sift through their feelings to reach a solution.

Compelling "slow burn" romances with a strong friendship-to-lover dynamic.
