They are both Yuri manga. Both have strong characters who you can't help but cheer on. There is a similar struggle with what is love and is this kind of love okay. Both invoke strong emotions and are hard to put down once you start reading. With all the character trying to be the most real self they can despite the struggle brought upon them by themselves and society.

Both series follow young adults navigating romantic relationships and the hardships that come with them. The romance and the issues faced by the characters are (for the most part) grounded in reality, which makes them believable and relatable. The importance of communication in making a relationship work is a major theme in both manga but they approach the theme from slightly different perspectives.

Both series portray adult romance in a bittersweet tone, but optimistic and sometimes (very) funny. And these two add subtly the presence of family, friends and many social dynamics. Personally I like more Harukaze no Etranger because of the complex relationships, but Tsukiatte Agetemo (...) explores the dynamics and insecurities when a couple is established

Well, if you want bittersweet ruminations on the nature of love, Omoi no Kakera has that down pat. It's another work that has some inkling of legitimate LGBT issues, much like How Do We Relationship. Essentially, they're both serious manga about being gay, and if you liked How Do We Relationship's moments of melancholy, you'll like OnK too. It won't be as fun, or as cute, but the atmosphere is very similar, and if HDWR is important to you, the stuff OnK talks about will likely be important to you too.
