A collection of shoujo manga that have yet to be adapted into anime. (Now with added josei titles!)   The Meiji and Taisho eras spanned from 1868 to 1926, a period of modernization for Japan. When after 250+ years of self-imposed isolation (Sakoku), Japan came into contact with Western culture and got inspired by it. This period combines Japanese traditional culture with 19th century and early 20th century Western culture.  A list of the Shojo and Josei manga that have been licensed by Yen Press   I'm defining "modern" Shojo and Josei manga to mean anything that began being published in 2013 or later. Obviously personal taste plays a role in whether you'll like something. I'm also trying to focus on Shojo and Josei manga licensed in English officially, so some excellent stories will sadly be missing from this list (they should probably get their own at some point). |
