Ojisans need more love!! Ideally the characters would all be in their 40+, but since there aren't as many of those, I've set the minimum age to be included to 35~

Purposefully left out ones that I didn't like so much, but those are tagged with "oyaji" in my manga list if you want the full list~

(not just manga but I don't want to bog down the title)

some of them are BL or yuri. some of them just have random gay side characters. sometimes. the random side character is trans. if you are insane like me, you will read the whole thing just for that one queer character.

This is a list of quality BL works that avoid a lot of common unhealthy tropes in the genre.

Wholesome in this context does not necessarily mean fluffy stories devoid of drama (though there are some). A lot of these do have drama, but the point is that the relationships have a large focus on consent and are also healthy, positive influences for the characters.

All of these entries are complete and are personally recommended favorites (roughly arranged in order of enjoyment).

All works listed exhibit the following:
- Consensual, positive, non-toxic relationships
- Strong characterization and/or strong narratives
- Completed, shorter length series (most are 1-3 volumes, upper limit is 5)
- Quality art (bonus points for unique and non-stereotypical art styles)
- Manga works only

Other common preferences, but not in every work:
- Relationship equality and/or reversal of expected dynamics
- Non-mundane settings and premises (speculative/supernatural/fantasy/sci-fi elements)

There won't be much bara here as it's not generally my jam. I find it to be way too western looking, or just... really not my interest.

Yo besties, I've been having a challenge of reading short manga.
so I thought of creating interest stacks for this challenge.
Some of the manga I've listed in the challenge aren't in MAL so I will list them in the description.
Each set (currently there are 15, and it continues) has 49 entries, and the manga vary in genres and popularity.
All of the manga are 1-5 volumes long, and I would love to see other people participating in this challenge!
