- Both are episodic tales about the problems people face. - There is an overarching storyline that strings together many of the stories. - The art styles are similar. 

There are bizarre changes in the world for periods of time and the main characters have to live and deal with their effects. This basic description is shared by both mangas but it doesn't mean they're the same, each manga has it's own unique world and characters interaction 

The plot itself is not so similar but there are main concepts which are pretty much the same: the main character starts a new job at a 'new' place in which s/he encounters things that counter their reality. As the time goes s/he comprehend their new reality and get to learn about it and about those special things. 

This manga is made by the same Author as Mushishi the MC is similar to Ginko, the 'flow' is the replacement to Mushi in this series creating a variety of phenomena and just like Mushishi its about dealing with them. Basically this is the same product just with a modern setting and an assistant to go along with the MC. If you liked Mushishi there is no reason why you won't like this, they're very similar. 

Both are calm and relaxing slice-of-life stories with characters that go at their own pace. Both have cats (addressed as President/Shachou-san) that sense and encounter the supernatural and mysterious aspects of their respective series.
