I picked up the first volume of "Become You" from the library. It looked interesting and it was written by the author who wrote "Orange". The main character is described as a person who is persistent and never gives up, which is a theme through these 5 chapters. He strives to be a better musician that stems from his love for music, but he struggles with performing confidently.


"Become you" reminds me of a "coming of age" story, where the main character had gone through these hardships (what kind of teacher is that?!) and wishes to become something more and something better than he ...

Mixed Feelings

This review comes only after reading the first volume, merely 5 chapters, but it's all that there is out so I'll do my best.

Story: I don't normally do these niche mangas about something very particular (such as cooking, glass blowing, or someone trying to be a star through music, like this one). I only decided to read it because of the author. I scored the story a 6, because it's not necessarily unique, but it's still a good premise and not COMPLETELY played out.

Art: Very good. I mean I know some of the art Ichigo Takano is seen to be sort of odd looking and ...
