Umareru Seibetsu wo Machigaeta! is a short autobiographical manga about the author's experiences with sex reassignment surgery.

The author goes to Thailand, has the surgery done and goes throught the recovery process. The whole plot is just that. It's not much of a story, but the important thing is how the author shows the complete picture of the whole process. She describes everything before, during and after the operation, a lot of which was interesting and I didn't know about. The author also doesn't sugarcoat anything. She describes some of the more disgusting and painful aspects of getting a sex reassignment surgery, which makes the story ...

Well as someone who is trans myself, this manga is very special for me. A lot of people criticize the art, but I think the art is actually pretty good. It's pretty normal art so I don't see much of a problem with it. Anyways, the point of me writing this review is to recommend it to anyone interested in trans people or anyone who is themself, trans. It was very helpful for me and helped me see the perception of trans people through a Japanese lens. I thought that it was well put together and informative. In general, I think it was a great ...

It's good to finally see a manga taking on what it's like for a person to go through gender assignment surgery and talk about the experience during the process, I found the whole thing educational and it has given me a few chuckles out of reading this manga from the actual authors perceptive to say the least. I feel that the author had such a bubbly personality that you honestly wish you could be their friend because the positivity I've obtained in this manga, really does make you feel good! Although the only criticisms I have is that it can be over the top and ...

Mixed Feelings
Umareru Seibetsu wo Machigaeta! is a simple autobiographical mange by Mafuyu Konishi.

It is difficult to rate this manga, as it is short and transparent story-wise. The main character is essentially a self-insert of the author. She travels to Thailand for sex reassignment surgery. That's the plot. Konishi-sensei is very transparent; recounting the pain and depression post-operation and the feeling of excitement for doing something that makes her feel like her true, real self. It's a very heartwarming story and informative for those who are curious about sex reassignment surgery in East Asian culture.

Overall, a simple story that you could read in an hour or ...
