This is a list of quality BL works that avoid a lot of common unhealthy tropes in the genre.

Wholesome in this context does not necessarily mean fluffy stories devoid of drama (though there are some). A lot of these do have drama, but the point is that the relationships have a large focus on consent and are also healthy, positive influences for the characters.

All of these entries are complete and are personally recommended favorites (roughly arranged in order of enjoyment).

All works listed exhibit the following:
- Consensual, positive, non-toxic relationships
- Strong characterization and/or strong narratives
- Completed, shorter length series (most are 1-3 volumes, upper limit is 5)
- Quality art (bonus points for unique and non-stereotypical art styles)
- Manga works only

Other common preferences, but not in every work:
- Relationship equality and/or reversal of expected dynamics
- Non-mundane settings and premises (speculative/supernatural/fantasy/sci-fi elements)

Just a list of manga I've read because of one particular reason: PRETTY BOYS

Most of these are BL though :">

Stories with fantasy themes, mythical characters or different species with anthropomorphic characteristics (like animal ears haha)

These are BL manga with the protagonist (used to) being, or falling in love with, an angel/god!
They often fall into the genres of fantasy or isekai, but may be set in a modern world.

bl manga and manhwa that i've rated 8+/10. we all know a lot of bl is kinda shite so this list had good ones that also have little to no trigger or content warnings but take that with a grain of salt
