This is a beautiful BL story. I'm extremely picky with BL and it mostly has to do with art style for me. Meguru Hinohara's art style is absolutely gorgeous and very soft and that's one of the biggest reasons I fell for this series.
Art put to the side and onto the story, I really enjoy the story. The God and human romance concept is very interesting and I like how they portray the Gods as being formed by stories created by humans instead of your typical high-powered god.
It's a very sweet story and I look forward to volume three coming out. Highly recommend ... this if you want something with a Soft and pretty art style and interesting story.

All the characters in this manga is fine af but.... I felt like it was kinda rushed? It's still ongoing so Idk about it but from the chapters I've read, I wanted more depth in Chiharu's feelings for Rin and not just.. y'know you want him to stay because you're gonna feel lonely without him kinda feeling.

Rin // Must Protect Baby Boi that can be dangerous. He learned how to cook and clean for Chiharu. He is hot. He is beautiful and kind, respectful, amazing, and ... lovely. He is so ethereal and I love him He has long waited for his wife to come only to be disappointed and hurt that his so-called wife is disgusted by him and pushes him away. Kudos to him for being patient enough to try to show Chiharu love. He was so patient, kind, and loving and in the end, Chiharu still can't choose him. He deserves better TBH.

Chiharu // Disappointed. Kinda wish he had just broken the bond between him and Rin so that Rin wouldn't suffer being with him. Like isn't he a little too selfish? I mean even though he doesn't want to become Rin's bride and follow him into the lake, he still wants Rin to stay with him and that's despite knowing how much of a burden it is for Gods to stay in the human world. He also said that he was going to find another way for them to be together without being bound by a contract but isn't that more for his own benefit than for Rin's? He's not taking into account what rin wants or the fact that he's a God, he's just doing what he wants and expects Rin to agree. He just thinks about himself and not think about Rin's feelings about all of these. but whatever ig, it's not that deep.

Well they're happy, I'm happy , no worries.

A refreshing take on the trope of human/god (could also be taken as interspecies) relationship! This trope is a well loved and, for good reason.

'The Dragon's Betrothed' tells the story of Rin trying his best to woo Chiharu and make him fall in love (which in and of itself is hilarious and endearing), but there is this unspoken (blink and you'll miss it) undercurrent of urgency to the story that could jeopardise not only their blossoming relationship, but also put Rin's very existence at risk.

Gods are born from stories, but if there is no one left to tell the tales or remember them, then how ... can they continue to exist?

I'm afraid my words cannot do this story the justice it deserves, but if you enjoy the tropes mentioned, the manga is worth a read (plus the art is stunning!)
