-Similar format: Both are full color long strip manga -Same basic premise: Two MC are childhood friends, and to their frustration, everyone assumes that they are dating since they are so close. Despite vehemently denying it, they eventually end up developing romantic feelings for one another, and make the awkward transition to becoming a couple. -Differences: Mostly in the setting. Kakao is a high school slice of life romance, complete with all of the cliches that typically entails. Something about us is set in the college/career world, with the characters encountering more "adult" obstacles in their path. Kakao also focuses more on the events leading up to  read more

Both stories are about two childhood friends attending high school together, in which one of them start feeling something for the other. The girl in this kinda couple is a tomboy and enjoy hanging out with guys rather than girl (although Tomo has some female friends since the story start). There are some funny scenes involving MCs and other secondary characters that make this two mangas very readable.

Both involve long-time friends, where one side harbors feelings for the other, and the other party is kinda clueless. The relationships in each story are fun, sweet, and sometimes painful in their own ways, due to the obliviousness of the other party. I was initially put off by the description for LG. K79% takes place in high school, where the leads have cultivated a strong bond  read more

Very different stories - Namaikizakari is much more traditional shoujo but with a surprisingly mature bent, while Kakao is roughly half dedicated to discussions of the motivations of friendship and bullying, but oh my GOD if you're here for the "pushy and kinda mean but surprisingly perceptive and sentimental prettyboy" X "responsible girl who wants to get better at connecting with people and who has an absurdly meltingly tsundere side" for the love of CHRIST pick both up now. Perfect executions. Kakao is more heartfelt and has more to say, but Namaikizakari is unexpectedly close behind for what it is.
