Okay, this isn't going to take too long. First of all, this is my first review, and my english isn't perfect, so sorry for that. That aside, let's get to the point:

This is just amazing. It is a pure shock of endorphins. I've never felt like that reading a manga.

Story: 5/10
Okay, this definitely isn't the main purpose after this series. If you are expecting to get into an awesome story that will change your life forever... well, just skip it.
The plot is very simple: every 1000 years the gods (from the Greek deities to de Indian ones) make a meeting where they decide if ... the human being shall continue existing or not. This time they decided that they shouldn't, so they decide to exterminate them, but one Valkyre interrupt the meeting, since due to a old law, they humans had the right to fight for their existance in the Ragnarok, a short of 1vs1 tournament between 13 gods and 13 humans. Thats the whole story, simple as that. There is also a kind of coup d'etat from the Valkyries, but nevermind that. Basic as it is, it works perfectly for the main objective of this manga: show outstanding and over-the-top fights.

Art: 10/10
What to say, this is probably the main appeal of this. Everything and everyone look so fucking gorgeous. The art is incredible, and it have some panels that will make you scream due to the emotion. Just see it by yourselves, everyone looks so badass, it's just perfect

Character: 10/10
Okay, i wasn't so sure about what score I should give, but this should be fine. Okay, to the moment only 2 and a half fights has happened, but every character is so fucking charismatic, cool and badass. It's easy. They show you a flashback about each of them, the god and the human, wich is enough to catch affectin to each of them, dunno how. Oh, and speaking abou the humans, they are not random ones, they are the strongest humans that has existed in the whole Earth's story. (spoilers incoming i guess? ) Lu Bu, a badass beast. Adam, best daddy. And Sasaki Kojiro, cool as always. The gods are super dope as well, every one of them. Dunno, all the carachters are perfect for this kind of story.

Enjoyment: 10/10
Of course, it has to be a 10. This manga has probably some of the best fights I've ever seen. Dunno if I'm overhyped, but it has been amazing. The art is awesome, the carachters are super cool and the fights are just incredible.

Overall: 9/10
This isn't a masterpiece because of its simplicity, and it's far from ending. Maybe in 3 or 4 years it become one, or a mediocre manga, we will see.

Nevertheless, to have a great time, I doubt there is a better manga. Just give it a try. Oh, and a personal tip, read it while playing some Two Steps From Hell music, it's just the best.

Like most new Record of Ragnorak fans, I was introduced to the series by a motion comic video on Youtube. It was the fight between Adam and Zeus. When I first watched the video, I thought "hm, this seems interesting." Little did I know that it would be one of my favourite mangas of all time.

Most of the fights so far have been a blast to read. Granted, the manga did start rather sloppily (Lu Bu vs Thor is my second least favourite fight), but it gets better over time. Give this manga a read if you enjoy tournament arcs.

Shuumatsu no Walküre, or Record of Ragnarok, is a truly interesting manga. As the synopsis declares, we have a lone valkyrie whom initiates what is the record of ragnarok. Yet there is a fascinating twist on the way this is done. Within this manga, we see the inevitable price humanity must pay, and the mindset of Gods in this world, each as result of the lives they lead.

Story: 7/10
The story is a very ... simple one. Simply put, essentially we follow one big tournament arc in which 13 Gods face off against 13 Humans, in separate One vs One battles, as the synopsis entails. However, while being an extremely simple premise, it is portrayed in a superbly interesting manner using intriguing undertones that embellish what it is we have. There is fantastic lore behind this story, one of which elucidates the high stakes, from Gods of mythology that we ourselves may be interested in to human beings within our timeline that we may have taken note of. I believe this manga takes the idea of a simple action, tournament arc, and stretches it to its greatest lengths. The only flaw I can give here is the simplicity, however this simplicity is also one of this work's greatest strengths.

Art: 10/10
There's not much I can say here. The art is truly outstanding. Each panel is so intricately drawn and, while this manga is one that updates monthly, the art that we receive in return makes it more than worth it. Truly some of the greatest art in manga I can say I think I've ever seen, and the attention to detail here is extraordinary.

Character: 9/10
So, we have our lone valkyrie, and a few other recurring characters. However, what I really like about the way the characters are set up in this manga is that it's very difficult to establish a "main" character. We have many different characters, all amazing in their own right. Each character is fleshed out very well, and yet there are so many interesting characters with such fascinating lore that it's honestly a wonder. So while I can't say something along the lines of "I'm a fan of the main character because of...", I can say that I really enjoy every single character in this manga for what they are, and how they are presented. However, this lack of a fundemental "main" character is the reason I cannot give this category a 10. Even so, I am very fond of the characterisation done within this work.

Enjoyment: 9/10
I've enjoyed every chapter so far to a very high extent. I believe anyone looking for a good seinen action will truly enjoy this read. It's one that is easy to get into due to the simplicity of story, amazing to look at due to the intricacy and quality of the art, and wholly enjoyable all the way through due to the lack of uninteresting characters and lore that we are presented with along the way.

Overall: 8/10
While this isn't necessarily a masterpiece, it is far from being bad. In fact, it is one of the best works I've had the pleasure of reading. However, I believe that the manga being far from over factors into the overall score here. Down the line, this work could become one of the greatest in the history of manga, or perhaps it could be the opposite in which it loses traction. With that said, I truly believe this is worth reading. It is very good for any fan of the action genre, and is undoubtedly a diamond in the rough within this scope.

This is a straight up blast. The tourney-style plot kicks you off right away and the action is 10/10. If you're looking for a straight forward, brutal AF, super well drawn battle of humans and gods with zero exposition this is for you.

It is very self aware of what it is never taking itself seriously. It embraces the hell out of that fact pushing everything to 11.

The story is nothing to write home about and is generic at its foundation. But it still manages to be really unique and enthralling while being very well paced.

Each character gets a little backstory and the author actually ... makes you care what is going on. Despite the absurdity of everything that's happening.

Similar in ways to manga like Hellsing, Drifters and Fate series. Mostly in that the majority of characters are historical figures.

The art is dope and has great comedy.

Check it out, its a quick read and is only on chapter 19.

Pros:
+ Some of the fights are pretty decent if you ignore the whole premise and just imagine they are two superhumans facing off.
+ Incredibly detailed artwork fitting for an action manga. (though I'm not a fan of character's expressions)

Cons:
-The story isn't even worth thinking about as it's just a means for the tournament style fights
- Awful representation of gods/demi gods from various Mythos and real historical figures completely butchering their backstories & personalities.
- Pathetic abilities given to the so called gods in the series, not even having powers related to their domain.
It feels like the writer had to nerf the gods that much to even ... give the human side a sliver of a chance
- Fight scenes constantly interrupted by character's narrating their poorly written backstories (Buddha for example) or the crowd piping in throughout the fights.
- This manga can often times be over the top edgy especially in regards to the dialogue as a lot of the deities talk like wannabe thugs and overuse profanities in a way that seems unnatural.

Overall score: 2/10

It is sooo good every time I read the newest chapter whatever I am feeling at the time I always come out of it feeling hyped and wanting for more. This is my first review and considering the amount of anime and manga I have read it shows how amazing this manga is. The fights that are depicted in this manga are simpily brilliant and each chapter tells you allot about the characters and their motivations. The characters are all either mythological gods or iconic figures in human history and all there stories are very interesting while also putting a new spin on there tales. ...

I hope it lives up to my expectations in the future and I am looking forward to more, if you are hesitating to read this don't and just give it a try it is a wild ride.

A cycle of hit or misses is the best way I can describe my experience with this manga. It's very obviously lacking any manner of compelling storytelling (in fact, there is almost no story to even tell) and the backstory of the characters introduced so far are just dissatisfying and tedious for the most part. There are like a handful of characters that garnered my interest and were to my liking, personally. Most interactions were silly; full of empty overhype and reactions that swiftly lose any manner of impact when the so-called tehcnique that has the coalition of gods at the edge of their seats ... saying "I can't believe he is going to use it on a mortal!" only for the ability name and what it does to fall short of expectation.

Art is decent, probably one of the couple redeeming qualities this manga has for me, aside from a couple of fights that I've enjoyed reading through purely based on emotional investment.

All in all, I firmly believe that it is undeserving of the score it has on this website.

I discovered this manga from someone in a discord server I'm a member of, and I've been hooked into it ever since. This manga is ridiculously entertaining, and the story, while simplistic, manages to carry itself really well. With that said, here are my ratings, and the reasons for my scores:

Story: 8/10 - The premise is based on a tournament, called Ragnarok, an interesting take on the old Norse myth. Once every thousand years, gods from various mythos gather together to vote on the fate of humanity (for some reason, only the Christian deities are not shown participating in these meetings). At the head ... of the meeting is Zeus, who asks that all gods vote on humanity's fate. The verdict is reached, and it appears humanity will be wiped out. However, the leader and eldest of the 13 Valkyrie sister, Brunhilde, steps forward, proposing a tournament in which 13 gods will face off in a series of 1vs1 battles, against 13 of humanity's mightiest heroes/warriors.

The gods, believing this will be no competition, initially refuse, but are then goaded into agreeing by Brunhilde. Thus begins the tournament that is Ragnarok, and each match is carefully crafted to bring out the maximum entertainment value. An example of this is the 3rd match, between Poseidon of the Greek pantheon, and Sasaki Kojiro, one of Japan's most skilled swordsman. The battle is treated as one of power (Poseidon) vs skill/technique (Sasaki), giving us a fight that isn't just a slugfest, but rather two entities w/ opposing ideals facing off. The battles are given further importance, as losing doesn't just mean death, but no longer existing. This gives each fight far more importance.

Art: 10/10 - Arguably the strongest aspect of the entire series. The visuals and character designs are incredible, and some of the best I've ever seen. From the clothing designs, which fit each of the various characters' origins. Zeus and the other Greek gods actually dress like old-fashioned Greeks, as does Thor and Loki, who dress in very distinctive Norse style apparel. Even the freaking spectators in the audience are designed specifically for the time/countries of their origin. The weapon designs are also incredible and highly original. From Poseidon's trident to Lu Bu's spear, to Sasaki's Monohoshizao katana, all are visually appealing. By far the most interesting so far though is Thor's hammer (which is literally nearly the same size as his body), and Heracles' club (which transforms to take on the characteristic of whatever ability he is using).

Enjoyment: 9/10 - Here is arguably the series' 2nd greatest strength and one I alluded to earlier. Each of the matches displayed is amazingly entertaining to watch. And the participants are carefully matched in a way that can only be described as a "match made in heaven" (I couldn't resist the pun, lmao). From Thor vs Lu Bu to Jack the Ripper vs Heracles (Hercules), the participants in each match have been carefully chosen by the author, instead of just randomly thrown together like you would see in most other tournament-based manga (looking at you Dragon Ball). Also, because of the careful pairings in these matches, readers are treated to clashing ideologies and fantastic techniques. Speaking of which, one would normally assume that there's no way a human, even at peak strength and skill, would be able to stand toe to toe with a god. And this would normally be correct.

But the author does a fantastic job of evening the playing field, through the use of the Valkyrie sisters. Each of whom possesses the ability to perform "Volund", which is a sort of fusion that not only allows them to turn into a weapon that best benefits their human partner (for example, the valkyrie paired w/ Lu Bu transformed to a Chinese spear, a weapon Lu Bu was famous for using), but also binds the life of the Valkyrie and human together. So, if one dies (typically the human), then both die. And that's not all, each human warrior so far has displayed abilities/techniques that they honed themselves throughout their lives. This applies to the Valkyrie as well, as each of them possesses an ability based on the meaning of their names, such as Randgriz, whose name means Shieldbreaker. This makes for some epic matches that I, for one, would love to see animated at some point.

However, that is not to say the series doesn't have its faults, at least for me. I know what follows will controversial for some, or downright piss off some of you reading this. But I feel that it would be very disingenuous not to point these things out.

Character: 7/10 - In contrast to the art and enjoyment, I feel the characters are the weakest part of the story. Not because their design is bad, or their histories/motivations are not explored. All of those things are actually why I give this part a 7. In each match, the author gives the readers a look into the past of each character, both gods and man, detailing their motivations, enabling us to develop more of a connection to these characters. Even among those, we would normally consider villains, their background and motivation allow us to still identify with them. A key example of this is Jack the Ripper, whose history as humanity's most notorious serial killer (I question this, but oh well), is explained in a fashion that enables us to sympathize with him. This is done successfully in large part because we have no knowledge of his history in real life, as the identity of Jack the Ripper remains a mystery to this day. So what are the negatives I alluded to?

Well, the answer lies in the selection of humanity's, and even the gods', 13 representatives. There is a very biased element to it that just doesn't sit well with me. ALL of humanity's representatives are of Asian or European origin/descent. NONE of the characters listed to represent humanity are of African, Hispanic, Native American or Pacific Islander origin. The same with the gods, all but TWO of them are of either the Greek, Norse or Japanese pantheon. Despite the fact that each of the races of humanity I named above has produced some of the greatest warriors known to man, and only Anubis represents the Egyptian pantheon, despite the fact it is one of, if not the oldest mythos in human history. This is especially notable in arguably the best character of the series, Adam. Someone who, by all accounts (either historically, geographically) would've been of either African or Middle Eastern origin, and is instead depicted as Caucasian, having blond hair & blue eyes. Likewise, all of the competitors are men, again, despite the fact, there are some INCREDIBLY skilled female warriors, both in human history and in various mythology.

This is a GLARING mark on the series. After all, if the point of Ragnarok is for humanity's greatest to warriors to defend humanity itself, how can this be done when so many different cultures of humanity are left out? Or only one gender is represented? Seriously, imagine Athena vs Tomoe Gozen, or Sekhmet vs Queen Amina? Especially when you consider that at least 3 of the representatives for humanity (Nostradamus, Rasputin, Nikolai Tesla) aren't even warriors, and thus are there simply to take up space that could've gone to other historical figures.

It sends the message that some cultures are better than others, or that only a few have produced individuals worthy of representing mankind. I also think that having characters from different cultures/mythos would've enhanced the entertainment value of the series. It would've been akin to the former TV series, Deadliest Warrior, in which warriors from various cultures were pitted against each other through analyzing their weapons, tactics, and so on. It's borderline insulting, but it's also fiction, so I'm sure someone reading this will dismiss this as the ranting of an "SJW crybaby", despite all of the positive things I've said about the series so far, or how accurate each of my points is.

This leads to my final ranking, Overall: 8/10 - while there are some things I really wish the author had done better with regards to the series, in particular being more diverse with the character selection. I still find myself immensely enjoying this series.

*Rapid Review*

As of chapter 90:

This is a very novel concept. A God vs Humans battle royale where EVERYONE is overpowered?! This is pure, unadulterated HYPE. It excels in a single aspect, but is extremely weak in literally anything else such as romance. Though, you get what you sign up for. Good backstories enhance the eventual action even more, and most often, you root for both sides at the same time. Great art and incredible fights!

I'm NOT a contrarian, and if your opinion differs, be civil. Your opinion is as valid as mine. Don't rate this as "confusing" just because you disagree with my view, instead, ... criticise the actual writing of the review. That's what it's there for. Don't be a child. Honestly this manga is one of the most overhyped things for little reason. I'm pretty perplexed.

Story: 4/10. There really is none, at least none of substantial note. 99% of the 'story' is just fights after fights. The fights are very hit or miss so far, I'd say right now the series is 2-2 (good-bad), possibly 2-3 since this current fight is extremely uninteresting and plain.

The fights themselves try to balance certain themes and character moments, but the funny thing is a lot of these break down if you think about it for just a second or two, and you're just left with a ... string of nonsensical, incoherent arguments made by the characters.

For a battle royale series, moreover, the series relies a lot on gaps in logic, nonsensical power scaling and strategies that make no sense in the context of the series. There are also narrative points and set up that are just never explained at all, I will avoid spelling them out since this is spoiler free, but some of the foundational elements of the battle royale are just handwaved away.


Art: 10/10. Excellent artwork, although sometimes it's hard to tell whats going on in some panels. But seriously, the artist is incredibly talented, and is able to invoke a sense of realism to the characters.

Character: 7/10. The author tries to flesh out each individual fighter, whether god or human. The quality of these backstories range from absolutely mundane and cliche to really interesting and well done. I actually enjoyed a good amount of them, but only one character had a backstory and was personified in a way I'd consider superb. If the writing for this character was injected in all the other characters, easily a 9 or 10/10 here, but nope.

Enjoyment: 7/10. Despite the asspulls, flaws, lack of logic in the worldbuilding/overall narrative cohesion/some of the fights, I can turn my brain off for a bit and enjoy the series as a battle royale.

Overall: 6/10. A slightly above average battle royal, mainly due to the incredible artwork and some interesting fight situations. However, a ton of flaws hold it back from reaching what could be an 8/10 series.

Let me start of by saying this is the first review I ever wrote. Also, I'm gonna be listing the 4 matches I already read but not the victors, just the contenders.

Story 7/10: The story is good, but it seems like it's been done already. Though the idea of having all these Gods throughout different cultures and religions band together.

Art 10/10- One of the most beautiful Manga's I've read. The art is amazing, that's all there is to it.

Character 11/10: I absolutely love how they use actual historical figures and characters that actually existed. For example, the fight of Heracles vs Jack the ... Ripper. That kind of fight was one where you couldn't decide who to root for. Do you side with the person who is going to wipe you out, or do you side with the most vile human being in history?

Enjoyment 15/10: Combining all of the factors above, this is one of my favorite ongoing manga. The fights are just so amazing. Weather it's an all out brawl like Thor vs Lu Bu, or a strategic fight like Poseidon vs Sasaki Kojiro or even the mind breaking match that is Zeus vs Adam, I freaking loved it.

When all is said, if you want to read some amazing fights then read Shuumatsu no Walküre

possibly one of the best mangas i've ever read even tying jojo's part 7.
the story isn't complexed or anything and feels like a reason to just throw straight action and unique and characters each with with amazing personality traits and abilities that sets them so far apart from each other and makes each character stand out in their own unique way like how qin shi huang is a true king and how adam is the father of everyone.
the story isn't the most predictable with most deaths and loses being hard to guess or how they happen and the enjoyment came was unique because it ... isn't what you normally expect from a tournament arc genre.
the artstyle is beautiful and detailed and sets apart each character from each other and makes every fight feel detailed and intense.
the characters had unique skills sets and mindsets that gave them both weaknesses and strengths with it, such as jack's ability to see emotions that gave him both joy and suffering throughout his fight and life.
although i don't think some characters reaction to this event is realistic it embraces their personality even more like qin shi huang want to protect his people as the true king of kings or adam's want to protect his children.
i think people would enjoy it after giving it a few chapters to pick up the pace and i would absolutely recommend reading this any day of the week.

My God, what an epic manga I just saw, sincerely the author riffled it with this manga.

Story 8/10: the story is unique, humanity vs. the gods, they will present in each fight the pasts of the respective characters so as to know their life story, they will mix reality with a touch of the author's imagination.

Art 9/10: his art is not bad, but it is not that he is the eighth wonder of the world. Another thing, the expressions of madness that the author draws are insane.

Characters 10/10: I will try to say it in a way that does not look like a fanboy ... ... THEY ARE GORGEOUS, not seriously speaking, the characters are unique in their own way, both gods and humans have a history and background that at the time of the truth you will be fond of both sides and you wish that neither dies, but the cruel reality is that you will have to choose one if or if.


Enjoy 10/10: if there is something in which shuumatsu stands out the most are his battles, they are absolutely epic, you will be satisfied, each fight shows the reason for his defeat.

In general 10/10: I have nothing more to say, I am more than happy to have lived for this great manga, if you are one of those who like to see fights without power up taken out of nowhere and a story that will leave you with the hype for the airs with each chapter.

First of all: I'm not English, so there may be a flaw in this review.

I know it's been a long time since this manga premiered, but I think it's really never too late to talk about your favorite manga that has kept you in this world of fantasy called Anime/Manga.

SNV is a manga released in 2017 that is about a tournament of 13 humans against 13 gods in 1 vs. 1. It sounds simple, and boy is it, it is as it sounds, but really, each battle is a world.
At the time of writing this review there are seven matches; six finished and a third ... of the seventh. In each of these fights they are going to tell us the story of each participant, but not briefly, they are going to take their time, but because they want us to grow fond of these characters, either because of what happens in the battle or for his past in life (or death by humans).

Unfortunately, a character is going to be taken from us in each fight and we are going to have a hard time, but not only because of the one that he has died, but because of the one that he has won. In each fight, the fighters will understand each other, to the point of occasionally being "friends". Here, SNV lies to us with their idea, because many only came for the blows, and have ended up crying. The flashbacks will also reach our hearts, because in the story they tell us what led them to be what they are. Using Jack the ripper as an example, the reason that led him to be what he is; Raiden Tameemon, a couple of the same. So if you like works with good characters, you will surely love this story, because you will feel empathy and you will understand each of the characters, however good or assholes they may be.

Everything does not end there. Did you really think that I would end up talking about my favorite manga like this? Well no, I still have things to talk about. The story as such is as I said at the beginning, like why something as silly as Ragnarok was created, since a human cannot beat a God. That is another, since they explain to us everything that may seem impossible in this work, such as how a human can harm a God (apart from the events outside of Ragnarok). But I'm not going to explain this because, more reasons for you to start this manga.

Each combat has its symbolism, such as the clearest: Evil vs. Justice or Enlightenment vs. Darkness.
In all the fights they try to give us a message that increases as the fights pass. It starts out simple and builds into something that can lift even the weakest.

To speak more, I can say that the "monthly" chapters are quite long (reaching 50-55 pages), with beautiful art. Another thing I haven't talked about, art.
The way they represent everything is incredible, such as highlighting an important scene or a scene by giving off the feelings of the fighters in that same scene: rage, happiness, anger, etc.
The drawing is detailed, so you will never feel an empty drawing, apart from the bestial designs of each character. And another thing that a lot of people like and another that does (in my opinion, I do like) is the evolution of the mangaka over time. The first chapters can feel weird because of the drawing style and at the end of the manga (up to 57 on air right now) everything is sublime.

I don't think I have much left to talk about. I have already said enough reasons why you can read Shuumatsu no Walküre. I assure you that you will laugh, get angry, smile, feel happy and cry for all these characters.

So with that said... What are you waiting for?! Go running and give this masterpiece a chance that will surely change something inside you.
If you have really reached the end of this review, either skipping or reading it completely, I just want to tell you that thank you very much.

I really wanted to not drop this since I basically haven't dropped any manga besides Nanatsu, Zip-Man and Dr Stone. I try not to shit on an artist's work, because it's their life, literally. So trust me when I say it pains me to say this really is not good.

Like, yeah, the art is pretty badass, but that on itself can't possibly justify the score this manga has.
The characters aren't good (at least the ones I've read about), the story is non-existent, and the little it has, doesn't even make sense. Humans are at the level of gods without explanation? (at least until the moment ... I dropped it).

If you're looking for mindless fighting I guess yeah, go for it. But if you need ANYTHING else besides action scenes as senseless as 80s action movies (unfair comparison since 80s action movies had at least the "this is so bad it's good" feeling to them), then no. Just don't.

Shuumatsu no Walküre is a very interesting manga that I honestly didn't have that high hopes for when I first found it. A friend showed it to me and it looked interesting enough and I thought it would be a great chill series to enjoy some action now and then. However, I've been pleasantly surprised multiple times by this story, have become very invested in it and it has become one of my favourite series that I always look forward to whenever new chapters drop. If you love a good action series, I highly recommend you check this one out.

At its core, the premise may ... seem formulaic - its a tournament between Gods and humans, the fighters announced at the beginning and we go through each fight one at a time. And the series very much follows an established pattern - both fighters are introduced along with side characters related to them, the fight begins, somewhere along the line both sides get their backstories revealed and eventually a victor is decided. Between fights there will be some character interactions before the next pair of participants are introduced and the cycle repeats. However SnW really makes this formula work. This also makes this one of the most consistent series that sets expectations well and delivers on them. With every fight you are guaranteed to get:
-Interesting characters with engaging personalities and awesome designs
-A variety of different powers and fighting styles introduced at a regular pace
-An epic fight with built in stakes and high octane action
-Back and forth drama and tension until finally one side squeaks out the win, but only by the skin of their teeth
-Two engaging backstories guaranteed to tug at your heart strings

And this is pretty much it. SnW sets up what it will be like from the beginning and sticks to its strengths. Every battle has been amazing. Every backstory has been very emotional and tear jerking. It's not the deepest writing ever but it doesn't need to be and the story is consistently thrilling and exciting. And that's not to mention the ART. Oh my God, the artwork of this manga is nothing short of phenomenal. Beautiful line work, stellar visual clarity, amazing detail, glorious backgrounds and an incredible fluidity and dynamism to the movement that really sells the speed and impact of the thunderous blows being exchanged in the arena. The character designs are both anatomically sound while also being varied, interesting and truly unique. The artist also really loves playing around with overexaggerated facial expressions and these both elevate emotional high points and provide comic relief in opportune moments.

Overall, this manga is definitely worth your time. The entire experience page by page is thoroughly enjoyable and it's awesome how consistently this series delivers on hard hitting action while intersplicing it with emotional storytelling, striking a good balance of pace that allows both the fast paced fights and slower story moments to flow wonderfully. This is more than just Fate for mature people, this is a truly unique series that stands on its own. Yes, there are plenty of works out there that have used mythological and historical figures before, but none have done so like this. Give this one a read and follow along, I think you'll love it.

P.S. About the anime, I've watched that too and will review it separately but just to put a few words here - it's alright. It's enjoyable but has some issues like lazy animation and wonky pacing. It's fun enough, and not to sound like a snob, but the manga is much better. I suggest you read it first and if you like it, watch the anime too.

To anyone who just got done watching the abomination on Netflix which thinks it can share it's name with this superb fighting manga, welcome. Please don't let your opinion of the anime influence your view of the manga, because, let me tell you it is a lot, and I mean A LOT better. Let's get this started.

Story: 7/10
Honestly, there isn't too much you can say about the story because it is certainly not the focus of this manga. It has a simple though quite intriguing set up that effectively establishes the meaning and direction of this story. I mean, a fighting tournament where ... humans compete against gods to determine the fate of mankind? That just sounds cool as fuck and honestly, who doesn't love tournaments in manga/anime? A lot of characters get their own backstories told during the fights which is really nice because it explains how their fighting style became the way it is and what their motivations to fight are appart from wanting to stay alive of course.

Art: 9/10
The art is gorgeous. Every fight is drawn so dynamically that you don't have a hard time imagining what it would look and feel like if it was animated. The character designs are so unique to this manga where it feels like the creators took little to no reference from other interpretations of the gods/humans that are portrayed and purely did their own thing. You can look at this art for hours and not get bored. The only criticism that I have is that the artstyle is a little too generic for my own taste but that is purely subjective.

Character: 8/10
Again, this really isn't the focus in this manga but it still does a decent job at it. Every character feels unique in both their fighting style and personality. The biggest thing about the characters which I arleady mentioned earlier are their designs. If it wasn't the fights, I'd say that this is probably the best part about this manga. There are so many creative and unique designs which I've never seen in any other interpretation of these characters.
The selection of fighters on each side is also really diverse, though I feel like there are a bit too many japanese characters on the side of humanity. I get it though, It's a japanese manga which is obviously primarily directed at a japanese audience, so of course there's going to be a slight excess on national representatives.

Enjoyment: 9/10
Kick back, put on your favourite work out playlist and enjoy one of the best fighting manga to date. If you like Kengan Ashura and Baki (which unlike RoR actually both got a decent anime adaptation) you are going to love Record of Ragnarok/Shuumatsu no Walküre. It's well choreographed fights will make your blood pump and give you the motivation to bust out that extra rep next time you're at the gym. Just read it please, it slaps harder than your mom when she got wind that you broke your neighbors window while playing soccer with your friends.

So i picked this manga up when i heard about the anime adaptation of it(like i usually do with most of my manga) and oh boy was i a bit disappointed in myself for not finding this earlier.
Plot : Its basically God of high school but with the Fate franchise's historical element involved. Its got a few turns that are pretty fucking unexpected and a few dialogues which really make you shed a tear. Pretty fucking good plot
Art : The art in this manga is heavenly( no puns intended ). It is stellar.
Character: The characters are fucking awesome, each and every character i saw in ... this manga is nothing like what i imagined it to be, in an extremely good way.
Overall i fucking enjoyed this so far and am heavily looking forward to the anime.

Since this manga is going to get an adaptation ill make a review if someone of the anime watchers want to try and read the manga.
Is it a masterpiece? No,it has some flaws and story isnt that good but its unique since there arent many mangas about humans vs gods.
Main plot is Gods have decided to perish humanity and destroy it,a girl who is valkyrie Brunhilde challenges gods in a Ragnarok,basically a battle do death between Gods and Humans 13 versus 13.
Art is really good and during fights you can see panels being really well drawn and the details that they make ... are very good.
Not going to spoil stuff but there is a reason why fight between Adam and Zeus is most popular in the fandom and outside.
My enjoyment during reading this series was 10/10 there wasnt a single moment where i got bored and was on my tiptoes on 50% of the reading.
All and all you should give this manga a try it's really well made and im waiting for the anime which will come out this year.

Plot [0/10]: well, there is no plot at all. There is just a situation without any sense and explanation. And it's not finished yet: it's full of absurd things (which can bother), every character does not stick to the real legend of itself, even the Ragnarok event is misrepresented.
Oh, and Athena bothers me a lot. I'm not spoilering something, I just want to say: who invent this manga is a kid? Because I think that there is a very childish thing about her and her brea--... She is the Goddess of ... Beauty, right? So, for the author, beauty is just have enormous boob-? I repeat, I think that this is very childish, but come on, please.

Drawings [3/10]: there are the basis but in general are not so good. And sometimes are not so simple to read due to all of those lines. This drawings are like... gummy.

Conclusion: do you want to waste money in a manga that gives you nothing? You're welcome. Instead, if you want something... decent, please, turn away.
Do you know Kengan Ashura? Well, this is worst. At least Kengan Ashura has some bases and a boundary about absurd things. In my humble opinion.
