Both main characters issues stem from family problems, so they are lonely and act out. If you like the moodiness in "H", then Hot Road makes an angsty, teen rebellion atmosphere with the motorcycle gang as its backdrop to the story.

Although they have very different styles they share a similar feeling, both being coming of age stories with young teens as characters and quite heavy an complex plots that go way deeper than your usual shoujo story. Both deal with juvenile delinquency and have tragedy elements while being pretty realistic at the same time. If you're looking for something deeper than your normal shoujo and you enjoy complex and psychological stories you'll surely like those.

The main character leads a life that appears good on the outside, but they are actually unhappy. They become involved with a delinquent, who for a time draws them away from their ordinary life. The main character is able to "reform" the delinquent, though not in the way they might have expected.
