It had no business being good. I have been deceived into reading a good manga when all I wanted was to read some trashy isekai. Oh Heavens!
But actually it is a good isekai, the one which you would not have guessed at least from a manga with generic as hell cover page.

Now starting off, we get a basic storyline, "boy gets isekaid", and with the necessary subtle gimmick so that the readers would be able to differentiate among the other stuff, the MC is a Yankee. And it also possess one other gimmick, it follows a story. 😱

Now the story isn't that good, it is ... decent, maybe a little better than decent considering it didn't forget the main story while progressing and actually ended when the main story got wrapped up. It is not a story which is something worth to bite your nails over, but it is something, considering isekais have the reputation for treating stories as a sort of an afterthought. About the comedic aspect, some jokes did land on me, but mostly went flying right past by. But it managed to set that light hearted environment , major credits to those cute little chibi. And yeah those chibi aren't just for UwU, they are a major part of the story. Also the serious moments has some weight and stakes behind them, and while the transition between those light hearted and serious scenes may seem wobbly at times, but for most of the part it was handled well.

Characters are fine to be honest, not a big fan of characters whose entire personality seem to get condensed to a word or two, as in the case of nearly the entire cast of the manga, but this one didn't give much of a problem. Hell, I even liked the females which everyone apparently despised, maybe due to my high tolerance for annoying characters. Character designs were generic too, not much different to be seen.

Art, also, fine to an extent. Not much different to see here too, just following the footsteps, step-by-step, of what others have achieved.

So it is a generic manga, with a much better story than average, which makes it get promoted to the "not-so-generic" rank.
