both series are about sharing food and growing closer with a childhood friend. the FL usually cooks for the ML and they have regular meals together (breakfast and dinner, respectively), are slow burn romances, and the ML falls first! the narratives focus on the bonds made through cooking and there are pseudo-recipes/food facts throughout. 

Both series have similar feels in regards to portraying their family/friend relationships, as well as have a pictorial step-by-step of the recipes.
