Both are amazing football mangas, that represent in some way a more "realistic" facet of the game and express how the desire of getting to the very top of the sport is a possible achivement with the right tools and the correct dedication, but most of all the obsession of completing your dreams. 

Both are football manga, currently ongoing(2022) recieved an anime adapts too both mc want to become best and determined to win ao ashi is focused more on team while Blue lock focus on induvidual game improvements.  

Both about football. Blue lock is more unrealistic than Ao Ashi much like the difference between Kuroko no Basket and Slam Dunk. Personally I enjoyed Ao Ashi more due to its realism but if you do want a football manga - this is still very enjoyable.  

Both mc have extraordinary vision. These are similar yet so different blue lock is a story transitioning from a team player to a selfish egotistical player while ao ashi is going from a egotistical player to a team player  

Both great sports manga (both about football) It is also about a high school boy put in a competitive environment where he strives to becoming stronger (similar to Blue Lock) 

Same base character vision and goals, same perks but blue lock vibes and characters are definitely more interesting, anyway, both have to be watched. 

Just like Haikyuu, Ao Ashi is amazing too. Realistic approach in sports, funny, wholesome, exciting, cool and inspiring. Characters are lovable, high schoolers that aims to become pro, very good and cool coaches, good looking characters. If you love Haikyuu, you will probably love Ao Ashi too. 

Just like Haikyuu, Ao Ashi is a realistic masterpiece of a sports series but football. However, Ao Ashi do not focuses on school, although they are high schoolers, school scenes are very rare. Ao ashi greatly focuses on football execution and explanations about it's techniques, different players positions etc. The main setting is on the field where the players are doing their practice, having their practice match, and professional matches, and in the dorms where the players are staying, you know those who passed in the selection exam. There are also scenes for their personal lives that will make you love the story even more. Ao ashi is also similar to Haikyuu in terms of emotional aspects. However, Ao ashi is just a bit more deep in emotion and scenes considering it's a seinin series (it tackles racism in sports, etc.) Ao ashi will give you emotional rides like Haikyuu. It will make you cry, happy, sad, mad, excited, hype, determined, inspired and most of all, it will make you fall inlove in the sport it represents. And for me, the most part where they are similar is the "teamwork". Sports requires teamwork. You can't play volleyball or football alone. Just like in Haikyuu, teamwork is very important in Ao ashi. You want to play football alone? Get lost. You don't want to cooperate? Leave. You suck? Then improve yourself fast or you will be replaced, or worse, kicked out. (coaches in Ao ashi are very strict, straightforward and can be really mean lol but they're the best). "WE DON'T SIGN SUPERSTARS, WE MAKE THEM" - Coach Tatsuya Fukuda About the pacing, Ao ashi's pacing is a bit faster compared to Haikyuu. Ao ashi's pacing is just right. Not fast, not slow but just right. It complements the flow of events and developments needed in the story perfectly. The execution of sports for both (volleyball and haikyuu) is excellent. Character developments, storyline and dialogues are top-tier. Ao ashi is very good. I highly recommend it. If you like Haikyuu, or if you like sports specially football, I'm sure you'll like it too. And they are both from Production IG so give it a try, you won't regret it.  read more 

Ao Ashi is quite similar to Diamond no Ace, but it takes a deeper dive into tactics and the mental states of players. It also explores the differences and rivalries between youth schools and regular schools in more detail. Overall, while Diamond no Ace has a slice-of-life element in the sense that it doesn't focus solely on intense action-packed competition all the time like Haikyuu or Ao Ashi, Ao Ashi will offers an even more technical perspective on the sport and the league environment. While I'm recommending Ao Ashi, Oshi no Ko is another good choice. It's essentially the same as Ao Ashi but delves deeply into the entertainment industry instead, with added drama, mystery, and romance. read more 

Diamond No Ace and Ao Ashi are great series. Main characters and side characters are very well-written and talented. Although Daiya is baseball and Ao Ashi is football, they similar in a way where they will make you fall in love with the sport they represents. Inspiring, realistic, funny, wholesome, and many more emotions brought to you by both. They are long running and takes their time for overall development so it requires patience but trusting the process is all worth it. Very good story. If you're a fan of Diamond no Ace, Ao Ashi is a must read.  

They are both football manga grounded in reality (Be Blues even more than Ao Ashi). And they are both good. . 

Both about football and how they're goals are to go pro (become a Japanese football representative) 

same football sports manga, but if ao ashi were focusing on the struggle of being a profesional football player, giant killing more focusing on what is football itself. the story focused more on clubs, managerial side, supporters, and how impactfull football is to people that really loved football. 

Giant Killing and Ao Ashi doesn't really have similar stories but more similar on very well written characters and plot. Real football, tactics and informations etc. Very realistic and enjoyable. Definitely recommended if you love Football and Giant Killing.  

Instead of high school teams, both protagonists are based in out-of-school clubs for their particular sport. Both manga also have great side characters and excellent character development for the MC! These two are definitely my favourite sports animanga :D
