| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Now this is interesting. How does Zero keep the fail brigade under control after his own loss? Only time will tell. It'll be interesting, though. You'd think they'd just try to snap the spears. Then it wouldn't matter what else they did as far as staying alive. Even a soft metal could be bent into the floor enough to prevent the spear from being deadly, with the combined weight of 21 people. Unless they're made of steel or something. |

| You can always name those kind of answers, but the info you're given is just never enough to know if that kind of thing is possible. Zero keeps on feeling like Fukumoto Lite to me. The explanations for example feel just a bit to extensive. I hope that the next gamble won't involve a situation like this, because all the people that slow Zero down are really starting to annoy me. |

| As for the old school commenter who said that the people slowing Zero down is frustrating, I agree. But I think the issue with this arc, beyond the extensive math lessons which will turn many people off, is how predictable the actual structure is. By setting up a whole army of inexperienced prone to collapse, and by giving Zero two chances, and by giving him a strong ally in Itakura, well you can see what will happen from the get go. Zero will struggle, fail once, the crowd will go crazy, Itakura will help, and finally Zero will save the day at the end. Again, because I am not the audience for this, I'm already bored of the subject matter, and it makes for all of the stuff we could predict before the game really began feel like something I want over with already. Then again, the altruistic and compassionate Zero needs to weigh himself down by helping others, does he not? I just wish it was done differently. |
