| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Wow, amazing chapter. Definitely my favourite, so far. You really start to hate Jack in this chapter. At first he acts all high and mighty, but than you find out that he's actually worse scum than all the contenders that Jack claims are scum. He doesn't take any change at all when it Zero's turn and he even cheats with an infrared camera... Of course you could expect that Zero found a special solution from what he found in the beginning of the chapter, but what is it exactly? Maybe it has something to do with metal easily conducting heat or something... (probably not, is it's a way to logical solution) Hopefully we'll find out soon. |

| This is probably one of the most climatic scenes in this series so far. I would have never expected that old guy (was his name mentioned at all?) would cheat by using his infrared camera hidden behind his hair. Judging from the last page, it seems like he failed to cut Zero's fingers. It's likely that Zero anticipated the old man's plan to find out where he had not put the plate to protect his index finger. All in all, Zero was very impressive in this scene. |

| Awesome! I agree, definitely the best chapter yet. And, yeah, Jack really is a douche, I wouldn't have thought that he would cheat in such a way. Still, seems like Zero found a way to outwit him. Ch. 9 spoiler: |

| I began respecting Jack for his strategy. I thought it was smart although scary, a statement that 'I will be completely impenetrable the first two rounds and I will defeat you before the third round.' But if you don't defeat them by that time, you are a sitting duck. I thought that was frigging cool and gutsy. And then… oh man… THAT'S WHY THEY CALL ME FINGER CUTTER JACK!!!! Amazing. Amazing amazing amazing! In line with the absurd, cheesy, cartoonish fun of Zero, this man is practically a cyborg. I assumed his half face would need to come back into this, and there was an amazing set up to the reveal. In the beginning Jack described his eyes as "the eyes of a god". This was despite the fact that he only had one visibly working eye. I thought that was odd, I thought why did he describe himself as having plural eyes that could see anything with. Well, I couldn't have expected it but I love it. |
