| Honestly this looks like a classic French 'dassin animé '. The kind of characters from 90s classic animes such as Dragon Ball, Ranma 1/2, Saint Seiya and the likes are all gone now; in the 2000s most characters hardly even look remotely Japanese and except for the cultural context they would otherwise be white Europeans, albeit with eccentricities like purple hair etc. But this flick here looks completely European from depiction to production; I wonder why they bother to append Japanese names to the characters at all... |

And I personnally don't think characters in these (or whenever) look either Japanese or European. They look like a drawing representing a human being, which allows your imagination to make them either, obviously depending on your source culture. |

| I thought it was quite an intriguing episode. Lol and I was gonna say Dragonball was 80's too lol. I don't think I've ever thought any anime characters really looked Japanese ... they do more in Avatar: The Legend of Korra and that's American. |

| I just can't wait to see where this anime goes, it's just so interesting and well thought out. The monster designs are a must as they really do look like monsters and not just some generic monster's that belong in a hentai. |

| I've had this sitting for years and I'm finally getting around to seeing it. Yeah, the art and animation is meh at best but Im really digging the atmosphere, mystery and a slow burn pace. So different from the expository dialogue heavy shows of today. |
