| damn really happy about trans lesbian representation but yeah it was obviously very dated lol glad the discourse has progressed a little more but i think that was definitely something for a cis audience rather than trans audience, like kind of looking at the world through a cis lens, one which cannot really fathom much of gender dysphoria, but leans them a little closer to understanding it a little bit more still, pretty fkn based as it was 2008 was it, i dont think much of the western euro-christian society was ready to discuss this back then, as it was still grappling with discourse on sexuality; and the social construction of gender was something that was still in the depths of academia and only entering mainstream discourse, its only in the past decade that trans people became visible |
