The place to appreciate manga that might not get the attention it deserves.

~Please provide~
1) Reason for posting it here.
2) A link to its page on MAL.
3) Some basic info about it.(Genre, MAL score)You Don't have to do this one since it's easy enough to find but it might catch someone's eye who otherwise wouldn't have given it a second thought.

At the moment there are no restrictions as to what manga you can post here, overall manga is under appreciated by many anime fans.

Manga Appreciation #1

Ane Doki!
http://myanimelist.net/manga/14710/Ane_Doki!
Genres: Comedy, Ecchi, Romance, School, Shounen(Most prominent genre typing is romantic comedy)
Score: 7.73
3 volumes, 26 chapters, completed

Its been a while since I read this but whenever somebody asks me about some of my favorite manga "Ane Doki" always crosses my mind. It's not original or anything but for me it had a different feel than the usual.

No spoilers at all here so I'm going to keep it short.
Natsuki Hagiwara(Age-17) forces her way into the home of Ochiai, Kouta(Age 13). Its quite funny at times and has some "cute" moments. One of the larger themes is young love. It's fairly short and has what one would call an ending.

In short if you like rom coms with a slight ecchi theme then you might want to give this a try.

I'm just here to recommend this masterpiece - http://myanimelist.net/manga/11734/Watashitachi_no_Shiawase_na_Jikan
Review? Not necessary, read it, it's not that long. Amazing. The suspense was there, romance, drama, feels, everything lol

I remember you recommend me that kakakarrotcake
My pick would be:
Death Note
http://myanimelist.net/manga/21/Death_Note
Rank: 16 Sore: 8.85
This is the only manga that i read that felt more of a story than a 'manga'. And its the only dtective type manga i read so far. The suspense and the art was amazing too IMO.

I follow no rules here, fallen. Besides, I did pretty much include the 3 things in, just not as obviously

Silver Spoon
http://myanimelist.net/manga/25096/Gin_no_Saji

Written by the author of Full Metal Alchemist, Silver Spoon makes farming life interesting and fun to learn about. Has some amazing characters and does a great job of being hilarious and emotional at the same time. If you like slice of life series, this is one of the best in my opinion.

BERSERK!!!! 10/10

Rank: 1 Score: 9.16

I know I may sound like a fanboy when I talk about Berserk, and I probably already recommended it to some of you, but its ranked #1 for a reason. Its got a great story, great action, great characters, it really pulls you into the story. Guts is on a mission and once you learn what that mission is all you want to see is him succeed. Once you see the source of his rage, you will get angry too, it makes you feel... ya know? Damn its just so awesome.

I'm reading an adorable manga called Yotsubato!. Yotsuba's is a 5 yr old girl who is energetic, curious, and a bit odd—odd enough to be called strange by her father as well as ignorant of many things that even a five-year-old should know. Because of this, the most ordinary experience can become an adventure for her. The manga was written and drawn by Kiyohiko Azuma, creator of Azumanga Daioh. The series is still in publication, and has a total of 85 chapters in 12 volumes.
The series will probably be more enjoyable for older readers. All I can say is that Yotsubato is extremely loveable, heartwarming and funny. It's a near perfect slice of life comedy. 10/10

Berserk. Yes. Though it may get the attention it deserves.
It has the greatest villain in manga of all time. I don't know what your argument could be against that.
Some serious respect, empathy and sympathy for Guts and his fighting style is amazing. One of the best protagonists in anything ever with a tragic and hate-filled history that as Ex said, makes you angry too.
Berserk is a manga that you can really speculate the (great) characters motives in and it does it purposely and I know many people love manga like that. (I think __ did it cuz..) It seems as though they purposely limit the amount of theories people would think though, if that makes sense, probably doesn't
Masterpiece. Everything that you need in a manga is in Berserk

Vagabond
8.84
Beautiful artwork, with complex and mature themes. Vagabond is set in medieval Japan and has historical events.
Absolutely great character development of great characters.
Coming from a HUGE Kenshin fan, this is the best samurai (sword) manga out there. No it's not just all slicing people like you may think. It has action, it is seinen (obviously appeals to the more mature audience like Berserk), it's a bit historical, and it even has a good amount of romance. Absolutely great manga, a masterpiece. 10/10. Sometimes it does have a bit too much philosophical stuff but it is not bad.
There have only been 3 manga that had me hooked, the ones I've recommended. Vagabond has a way of doing that. 320 chapters and publishing. I wouldn't be surprised if you read them all in one sitting, it'd go by in a flash cuz it's just so awesome
Unlike Berserk, it pretty much tells you what Musashi is thinking. No theorizing in this manga lol. That is not a bad thing at all btw

Guts and Musashi are of the most bad ass and I believe that is a fact.

That sounds like it would be right up my alley, Jym. I'll be looking that one up when I get home.

I mistook Berserk for hentai the first time around so I just skimmed it until I got to the "good parts". Since I found out differently, I have been intending to go back and give it a proper read.

Vagabond has been highly recommended hereabouts before. It's on my list.

One thing I really like about manga over anime is that if you fall asleep while reading it, it doesn't keep turning pages.

When I said older readers I had in mind that a lot of people in their teens and twenties might find it boring. No mecha, sword fights, busty babes etc.
