| You don't necessarily have to watch the previous anime, though it would give you some more background on some of the characters, but this would be fine to watch as a newcomer as well. |
| You should watch the previous series though... Having watched both, I can say for sure that Ginga Nagareboshi Gin might be older and uglier, but it's 10000000x better than Ginga Densetsu Weed. Seriously, between the 2 I wouldn't even recommend GDW but GNG. Most people only recommend GDW because it's more recent and that may be the only one they've seen, and not many people want to watch an '80s animes, but still, Ginga Nagareboshi Gin is better on almost every point (everything except animation/art). |
