THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Hmm, I decided to give this OVA a shot. Not bad for a start imo. The designs of this character looked kinda cool imo: ![]() Lol @ the health examination. Oh God. Nice way to connect with each again I guess in this OVA. Oh and ED song is kinda catchy with the scenes. |

This is an episode that is more than the usual quality of OVA, in that it does not look like a filler type of episode but actually closely linked to the series itself. It connects to the past before the time of the series, and it also links back to what happened in the last episode. And it reveals quite a lot of Hina's back story and her current status. The episode is even called "Install x Dream" which is the name of the OP and the title fits perfectly the story of the episode too. The only grip I have is how easy the car was stopped and then the case broke open, and also not much of a fight at the end LOL Still, Two thumbs up. It just reminds me of why I love this series so much. |
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

That was a really nice episode. I didn't expect Hina to be so strongly connected to other three and especially Ann. Hopefully Ann will remember their meeting if S2 ever comes. Hearing out backstories of Ann, Lene and Ines would be nice as well. This OVA delivered in the regard of "the same as TV series but more" and even surpassed it by giving out more actual info than average episode. I wouldn't mind another OVA, preferably with that soldier Shinki who lived in Wild. I know it didn't sell to well but it doesn't look like it cost much either so anime was most likely profitable. However I'm not sure about situation regarding figurines - IIRC they weren't produced in big amounts when anime aired, did it change later? |

At first it was kind of confusing, but when I realized it was a prequel everything made sense. It was kind of troubling how they blew the tire of a car in movement, am I the only one that thought "Those dolls could be the perfect assassins, it is harder to blow a tire than to blow a carotid"? O_O Nevertheless it was very heartwarming to see Hina remember their first encounter and it was kind of nostalgic see the hamster (Again) pop out of nowhere. For a full reunion they only needed for the shinki with a ghost master to make an appearence, hope they do another ova later on (I hope this series at least helped sell more real life non-sentient shinkis). |

Woah, that's pretty cool how it all ties in to the main story. Still, 20 minutes is obviously too short so the events in the episode itself were so quick and seemingly insignificant, like when the nurse said "You heard some stuff you shouldn't have, so we'll have to erase your memories." The fight, also, wasn't really a fight, Hina (in Ann's body) just kicked the Shinki and it faceplanted against a rock and that was K.O. Still, I didn't expect anything of this OVA, so I was pretty happy it was actually a special that could relate to the primary plot through Hina's character, rather than just a random episode of doing random stuff (which is fine, but nothing truly interesting). |

Ah, that was a wonderful prequel. Reminded me of why i love this series so much. The somewhat light action combine with the light heartedness and music of the series really draws me in. |

I guess the reset made her remember Anna, and that she has encountered her before. I guess they should be closer now and let the other girls call her by Hina instead of Strarf. I didn't know machines dream though!! 7/10. |
