It was a pretty good episode, I knew I recognized those two from the underground maze in the first series. I've always liked their fusion monster, I think I saw it in some of the games. |

| Can't believe they're dueling those brothers. One thing that bothers me in this series so far is they borrow a lot from the first YGO series instead of only relying on itself with new stuff. I know this only happens a few years or so after the first series, but still. Good episode though. |

Can't believe they're dueling those brothers. One thing that bothers me in this series so far is they borrow a lot from the first YGO series instead of only relying on itself with new stuff. I know this only happens a few years or so after the first series, but still. Good episode though. That's a strange complaint to make considering how at least half of the cards that we've seen belonging to the main characters up to this point have been new in the case of Judai, Asuka, Sho, Ryo, and Chronos. Manjoume used the XYZ series that Kaiba used in DM, but he also had some new cards as part of that set, as well as his own original Hell cards. Titan used the chess-themed Archfiend archetype, but those had never appeared before so it didn't feel unoriginal for him to debut those cards in the anime. The Meikyu brothers used a variant of their old Duelist Kingdom deck here sure, but they also used new cards that hadn't been used in the anime before like Tribute Doll and Defense Wall. |
