I think it's pretty obvious where this is going to. Maybe he's going to help with burns? We shall see.

I've seen the first whole season of the television mini-series made from this, and can tell you that what Minakata-sensei winds up doing will have a far more personal meaning for the fireman chief. Both he and the chief will exert themselves to the utmost for each other, in spite of how things might look right now.

In any case, the television version is a little bit better in some regards: the scene where Jin meets the fire-chief is actually quite funny.

It's funny that the idea that Nokaze is just like Jin's lover only now enters into the manga. The idea is present from the very start in the mini-series, to the point where the same actress plays both parts. It provides a whole additional subplot to the story.

our mc finally gets to score. he must've built up lots (now reading the next chapter, nvm)

it also left a bad taste in my mouth when Nokaze had to offer herself to the kabuki in exchange for the 400 ryo

the story is very formulaic and lacks tension. the mc has abt the charisma of a brick... I'm gonna skim thru a few chapters and maybe eventually drop it
