| I could see that happening. Those last couple episodes were way too focused on that single match: Kuro feeling inadequate, Miyanaga Teru slaughtering everyone, and 2 episodes focused on Toki As well as some unnecessary drama with their coach. Geez. |
| If 6966 volumes sold is "SO bad that they couldn't do the money to make 3 more episodes" then I seriously pity a lot of the rest of this season's stuff. If that isn't enough nowadays to make just an extra 3 episodes then goodness knows what is required for a show to get a second season. And that's before you count the boost to sales of the manga too. And tplusent I hope you're joking about that... Focusing on mahjong matches is the whole point of Saki. The final round of the prefecturals in the original series lasted 4.5 episodes, for crying out loud. Anyway, they have to wait for the manga before continuing - the last episode was already ahead of the manga (which has since come out). It will likely not be until October or November that the manga gets completed. My theory is that the last 3 episodes will just be added as an extra Blu-ray/DVD at the end of the series' release schedule. But I don't know for sure and there are various other theories going around. But noone knows yet. I (along with many others) was hoping there would be an announcement of the plans in the latest chapter of either Saki or Achiga-hen that came out this month but there wasn't. |

| Yeah Kuudere covered me. And anyways they announced that they will do it so they WILL do it. If they had budget problems to begin with I'm sure they wouldn't make that announcement. Plus the extra episodes were decided based on the fact that the show was popular and it would make them more money. As for when the episodes will come out... No idea. I hope some time soon because i miss Saki :( |

A case like that has never happened before and i dont think this will be the first case. Correct me if i'm wrong. Like Kuudere said so far no news from the latest manga release about the extra 3 episode. But yes there are rumours that it will come out as DVD bundled with the last volume of the manga. As for the release date....We'll have to wait patiently :( |

| What is it with them always leaving Saki unfinished? It's like they just don't plan things out enough. Even the pacing of Achiga-hen was weird. It's like they started out at a normal paced, then rushed through one or two episodes, then ground it to a halt, only to end abruptly. |

Pretty sure they'd know if they couldn't do it before that point. My guess is that those episodes will only be on the dvds/blurays. So we'll have to wait some months then, maybe it'll be like with ovas. |

| If its any consolidation, next manga chapter might contains the material for new episodes... (its not really unfinished, just no material for new episodes, plus ep 12 is way ahead of the manga) So I think its fair to think that next ep will air somewhere on August/September... Just keep your finger crossed. |

| Ladies and gentlemen, this is the moment we have all waited for. Episode 13 will air 24 December on AT-X at 23:30. Blu-ray volume 7 will be released on 20 February 2013. It has the same price as previous volumes so it should have two episodes. |

I'm thinking that this special won't end being 3 episodes, but rather just one with three different parts. We'll have to wait until December 24th. |

I thought the same thing for what it would have to cover and drew the same conclusions as you. I could see it playing out like this though.... (depending on how well the characters from Usuzan are covered in Season 2 and the sales for the series), a possible OVA or short "Side B" season covering Usuzan in the quarter finals AFTER Saki Season 2 finishes. Although I would expect it to be more character and yuri driven than focused on mahjong. The fact that we already know they will make it into the Finals doesn't really matter, as it has always been pretty obvious which schools were going to make it. Might as well milk the cow for all it's worth! ;) |
| hmm...I want to confirm something. Right now, both Achiga-hen and Saki are in the semi-finals right? So then only 2 schools from each group will pass and move on to the finals, correct? That is what I always presumed, so correct me if I'm wrong :P Right now the groups are Saki: Kiyosumi Rinkai Usuzan Himematsu (If this is wrong, I'm sorry. Its been a while since I read it. Achiga: Achiga Senriyama Shiratodai Shindouji Out of those 8 schools, 4 will make it to finals right? |

| They're being aired about once a month I think. Next is on 29th January. And yes, 2 schools from each semi final go through to the finals. Just like 2 from each quarter final went through to the semis. |
