Weird that the guy requested his matches, but I guess that's less protective of his shed than anyone else had been. If I had a shed, I don't think I'd mind loaning it out. I mean, really, what are they going to do? I guess maybe if you stored valuables in the shed it could be disastrous.

I'm really liking Vitalis so far. It was a very good episode overall and did a good job of portraying their hardships on the road but also how that made them become closer. Despite all that happened it was still the most positive/lighthearted episode so far. I wonder what Remi will do to earn his keep though. The OP shows him with the harp but I doubt that's gonna be how he starts out since it takes a while to learn an instrument
I probably regret this post by now.

Solid episode, liking Vitalis already. Much better than Jerome, that is to be expected :)

Looking back, I wouldn't be surprised if Vitalis bought Remi primarily to save him, because most people who'd buy him would use him as a slave. And Vitalis being a traveler could use a human companion. A child who could help him was the perfect thing, so he bought him for nothing. The hardship on the road aside however, Vitalis sounds like a too good deal. The opening already foreshadows a lot of events, so I'm looking forward to Remi's journey.

I'm thinking Vitalis also felt rather lonely, hence the need for travelling companion.

Those (Christian) farmers weren't very hospitable. Didn't expect Vitalis to be such a nice person.

Man... those ppl are so cruel

I really like Vitallis' character, strong-willed but kind at the same time. It's an interesting concept with the animal characters they added but I don't mind it at all. The story has been so compelling so far, I can tell this is already gonna be good.
