| Many elements induce fear, but which ones? It can even be how the girl looks, they don't have to do anything scary!! For me it's all about the look, if they talk about morbid things often, if they are involved in a murder, the voice and the laugh. There's probably more I can think of but those are the main ones, any of you guys got any ideas? Examples would be awesome too cause I'm always up for checking out some anime with scary girls in them! I'd start off with Kotonoha Katsura from School Days...  ...cause she goes insane but in that calm 'yeah, I'm ok' way, and ends up doing something morbid and freaky at the end *shudder*' it's always the quiet ones' applies with this girl. |

| I think Kotonoha isn't really the scariest person, i mean she's so charming to for starters! Personally, girls that have maniacal laughs e.g. Rena Ryuugu and Shion-chan! scare the hell out of me... but at the same time it seduces me in a weird, but normal kind of way. you know? because looks just compliment that seductive scary girl personality, but man those voracious laughs are eye-yankers. |

| Nice topic! Good to see things are happening even if I can't visit the club that often :) Back on topic, although the concept of "scary girls" also includes the "funny scary" ones too (like the stalker girl from Bamboo Blade) it probably is the ones given over to violence that really make the grade of scary - probably even more so given that they're usually cute little anime creatures, until they start going postal on someone. A large part of that has to do (for me,anyway) with the transition from "normal" to "scary". Top of that list have to be Shion & Rena - especially with the cat's / demon's eyes moment. Likewise, innocent Nyuu transforming into psycho Lucy. However, it's also the ones that show no emotion that are pretty scary - Enma Ai, Cosette are good examples. For that matter, even little Henrietta from Gunslinger Girl is scary when you realise just how obsessed she is with Jose. What makes them scary? hard to summarise really - different things will br scary for different people. For me, it's if their actions take you out of your comfort zone, if that makes sense. |

| i think its the smile, and the personality calm is scary but when shes playful like a child its really scary. after all children like to play with there toys, cutting off limbs and laughing is just so scary! |
