According to the MADHOUSE official website, a continuation of the Ninja Scroll series was announced under the name Ninja Scroll Project. This project is related to Ninja Scroll (movie) directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, and its sequel, Ninja Scroll: The Series. A news flash announcing the start of the project with 3 short specials was aired at Sakura Con in Seattle WA, which was held between April 6th and April 8th.

Sounds pretty interesting. I'd never felt motivated to watch the movie before but I will now.

Loved the movie but the TV series was completely forgettable. Hopefully this doesn't turn out the same way.

Ninja Scroll was an awful movie. Good job Madhouse.
The legal age of consent in Japan is 13, so shota is totally legal in Japan. In some western countries shota might be considered child porn.

The TV series was directed by Tatsuo Satou only (not the original creator). I submitted a request for "director" to be removed from Kawajiri's name on the TV series staff. This new project will most likely be directed by Kawajiri, the original creator, himself.

Hope this turns out well. I loved the 1st movie and personally I thought the series was enjoyable though kinda less ominous than the movie was. Ninja Resurrection was an interesting North American marketing follow up with a different Jubei and plot that was quite similar in style to the Ninja Scroll movie. It wasn't as good, but it was still entertaining.

Well, I'm curious. There are barely anything new that has the intensive brutality of the Ninja Scroll movie.

Uh oh. Here's to hoping they have recruited a totally new development team than what they had for the first attempt at a television series.
