Kurosawa has an admirable moral code and a strong sense of responsibility. Even if he acts rashly and clumsily, and even if his 'good acts' are self-interest in disguise, I think it's important to note the times he acts without thinking. He helped Kikuchi immediately and he accepted to go to the site that needed help despite having a horrible day and being sick, covering for Akamatsu to celebrate his sons birthday. Further, we saw him fight against his devilish desires on the subway and he showed he would have been utterly disappointed in himself if he molested that woman. More than that he has such a strong sense of responsibility and he tries his hardest not to step out of line whether it ends up being a good or bad thing.

Kurosawa giving it his all only to be belittled and insulted and criticized, ready to go home feeling empty and unloved is the whole notion of the center of the earth that Fukumoto writes about in Kaiji part 6. It's interesting to see how his world views and themes align in every story he writes. This toxic process that Kurosawa went through was described in detail throughout this chapter. It was seen broadly by someone who was in that situation in the past in Kaiji. And in my opinion, in Rude 39 we see the epitome of a man who rejects that situation outright. Fukumoto is a very wise man.

Holy shit that was depressing and also very relatable. Kurosawa just wanted to help so he accepted The job even though he was sick and did the best that he could. Apart from the fact that he took responsibility for the carelessness and lazyness of his company, he still got scolded for it.

He almost died!!! He literally would have if he had fell asleep there. But the main point here is that Kurosawa still didn't give up! He got up and tried to get back home.

I was so happy to find that the 'nice guy' and everyone that came to help him...all to find out it just a dream...My heart just sank.....

Oh man this whole manga is just so heavy and depressing, while also having lot of laughs hmm. I hope something good happens to Kurosawa but at this point I doubt that..
