| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well that battle was pretty cool, it was nice seeing the back story of shinatori, he had such a brutal training experience to become the legendary boxer that he is today. Still i kind of felt that this battle was a little to fast. Of course we know the main character is going to win every fight, so thats to be expected. I like how his sister always comes up with the strategies, she must be a genius. I wonder where she picked those traits up from. I guess i'll never know cause this anime is starts 10 years after the manga unfortunately. Well next episode is another break it seems before the finals with Takane Ryuji Vs tagashi. |

Some things just arn't explained in the anime at all during the premise of the show, like takane Ryuuji's sister actually being his trainer, so in other words, she is stronger then him i guess cause she trained him into the fighter he is. Same goes with tagashi. That whole concept was kind of strange to me in the series. |

| Nice match, but I appreciated Shinatori's backstory more than the action itself. ^^" 4/5 May the Carnival's final be more exciting. @link9us The Takane children basically got their talents from their father who was a professional boxer. Sure, we get the minimal introduction for the heroes, but it is still here, delivered through flashbacks. For example, in the 1st or 2nd episode, you can hear Kiku saying that she will turn Ryûji into a pro (during the scene where they flee their hometown for Tôkyô). A few pictures of the training are also shown in the opening. On the other hand, how such young kids were able to do anything starting from scratch in a big town is still a mystery. I suppose the series was more aimed toward nostalgic adults who wanted to relive their childhood while hoping to grab a few younger people who were reading Rinkake 2 and were curious about the previous generation. |

| Pretty good ep, I enjoyed seeing the backstory of Shinatori and I like how they both respected each other. Interested to see how the final fight will go. |
