Yep, he's stronger with Royal Paladins, alright. I have to say, I really didn't want to see him lose to Morikawa of all people. I'm fine seeing him lose from time to time, but he's lost enough, and, come on...Morikawa...

Man this Aichi is boring and really sad. If he continues like this he will get knocked out of the Nationals in no time like he did the last one.

you know i think the one thing this show is trying to get across that most people don't get, is that it isn't always about winning.

besides the gag was that morikawa is actually pretty strong if he'd just use a balanced deck.

Bermudas and Neonectars made me happy, and Morikawa's gag made me rofl. "This deck is weak..." and he wins. "Damn, just one Grade 3. I guess I'll use these weak Grade 2s," and wins. XDD

Kai and Kourin never said that Aichi was stronger with Royal Paladins; they only said that Aichi failed to see their power as opposed to him switching to Shadow Paladins because he thought they were stronger. Looking at an alternate situation, if Aichi had kept being his normal self but decided to switch decks because he wanted to try something other than Royals, then everyone would've probably been fine with that, albeit surprised. But no, instead he threw away a deck he cherished for one that was supposed to give him power; and Kai proved that Shadow Paladins are no stronger than Royal Paladins, it's just a matter of who's using them.

And as far as Aichi losing, don't you think that goes to show what Kai said about Psyqualia making him weak is true? Psyqualia only allowed Aichi to win because the cards were telling him how. But now that Aichi switched back to his regular deck and isn't actively using Psyqualia, he's once again playing the same way as before with no shred of progression in his skill. Meaning Psyqualia stalled his skills.

So, I think this turn of events is actually a good thing. I mean, besides the gag, it goes to show that Aichi was never "strong" with Psyqualia, he was just always winning.

Morikawa finally wins for once, in fact he wins many times in this episode. Aichi goes back to his old self only to lose to Morikawa. He doesn't stand a chance at Nationals if he loses to this guy in a shop tournament.

At this rate, If Q4 wins Nationals, then it will be a miracle. They'll possibly have a fighting chance if Kai takes Aichi's place.

I still can't decide whether Kamui is really mature for his age, or if he's really inmature in his thinking about Emi.

And I kinda quickly thought that deck was specially constructed for Morikawa.

Good explanation, though. I think.

nice to see morikawa play with a balanced deck. now what's left is to change his personality (or at least his view of "strong") and hairstyle.

that "scary face" made me laugh

I thought that Aichi would get some sort of "good" Psyqualia after that match with Kai

She's not new. I don't remember which episode, but she's been in an older episode walking home with Emi from school and Kamui was inviting Emi to watch him at the shop tournament or regionals or something.
