Well, no, a bad person would nestle themselves in with the group first. At least if said bad person is the proud owner of a brain and not just some random powerhouse.

A bad person would be someone who backstabs, I infer from your opinion. But Light explicitly says she is joining to learn to defeat the main characters. So I wouldn't call it bad. It's just the main characters that are making a unique decision, in which to accept her (esp Yoichi).

Then again, coming from the style of the mangaka, I would guess Yoichi would reform Light later on...

In my opinion a bad person is one who manipulates from the dark, something like a mastermind, then creates discords among a group after he/she succeeds getting what he/she wants. And continuing harming them after.
