| Review episode, but it was a good one. We were able, as someone already said, to see the other side of the war and how Maria is manipulated by those guys (we were able to see that when this guy says that nearly anyone died in that battle in the beggining of the series). |
| Mostly recap, but it was an important episode since it introduced the Queen and basically explained what happened to the UC universe now. Many colonies are now fighting for their own independence, apparently. And the Empire is one of them.. |
| A recap episode so soon?! The flashbacks being mostly long battle sequences with no comment, I had to skip them. At least, we learn about the "Empire" 's reason to invade Earth: this time, it isn't about independence but it is officially about reforming a new global order (better than the Federation rule, I suppose). Like I suspected, the queen, Maria, seems indeed to be a puppet queen for a militaristic state. They don't even convey her exact informations to manipulate her easily. 2.5-/5 Motorad? Super... more motorbikes to come I'm afraid to discover another review episode later, since it's not even the halfway point. |

| I needed this recap episode :). My semester for grad school started up, so not binge watching and was forgetting main points of the story. I was hoping Queen Maria's speech would be a little be longer and more intense, though. |
| They could've tried to make this Duker guy just quickly retell these events with a propagandist spin to it instead of showing the scenes with no comment. That way it wouldn't even look like a recap, more like a "report". But now it looks unnatural. Eh. Also, Maria was talking about colonies fighting for independence as "Sengoku Jidai" and saying that using her "ideals" would unite the galaxy under the Empire rule. Nice parallels to Japanese history, I guess. Plus some ridiculous costumes from centuries ago. Fitting for people who use guillotine though. |
