| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- The first episode was okay, but one has to wonder why bother to do a historical family story set in 1964 as an anime instead of live action, other than the fact that the cityscape has changed so much. Come to think of it, if you want to see how Tokyo looked in film in 1964, you could always watch the old Cary Grant movie, "Walk, Don't Run". |
| I like the dad, turning tables and getting drunk all over the place. It actually wasn't as boring as I was expecting it to be, I kind of liked it. I hope that this doesn't get dropped by the fansubbers for being unpopular, or something. Also, what is the movie about? Is it completely different or just full of footage from the TV series? |

| It was surprisingly enjoyable. I hope the fansubbers don't drop it because bleach fans are upset about the lack of action. If they don't like it I am sure one of the thousands of loli series airing this season can entertain them. |

| Well, isn't bad but also not good... the history is good and has potential to be a good drama :D (P.S: Was hard to find an fansub group than translated this anime, i'm waiting for next episode!) |

| TOOOOO SLOW PACED. makes me wanna fal lasleep, but it grabbed my interest, so i somehow watched through the whole thing to learn about the history. |

| I thought it was excellent! I don't know how "aimed at seniors" it was, it just seemed like any other slice of life anime. The only things that felt "aimed at seniors", were the comparisons to old Japan and new Japan in the beginning, and the "Casual Stroll" at the end. Which were both great, and educational! +1 It actually seemed more like a Kdrama than anime, but I really like the cast. Not a whole lot happened in the first episode, but I think it will make for a great laid-back experience. I just wouldn't watch this one when you're sleepy, cause you'll probably never get through it. :P Urahara Out!! |

| I love the OP. The whole, slide show of how Japan was and is now was really nice. The pacing is right for a show of its type. I've seen slower paced anime that were more enjoyable than faster, more action oriented ones. The voice of the main character was a little icky though. Sounds like the main character from Hourou Musuko... lifeless. |
| I thought it was great. It had a good realism and decent cast of characters. I'm curious how the story will move though but it has my attention so far. |
