So we found out Rey's a clone. Not entirely surprising given his connection with Neo/Mu and the flashbacks with Rau.

A lot of dialogue in this episode. Durandal reveals his destiny plan (rather comically in fact) and obviously Orb and Cagalli are against it.

I'm surprised Durandal didn't fire on Orb first but I suppose Azachel is the more immediate threat seeing as they are closer to the Plants.

Rey a clone? Wasn't super obvious, but like emeraldrosary said, not surprising either. That explains why he 100% agrees with everything that Durandal says, or is planning, because with his short life, he can't really find some other ideals or reason for living...I guess. It's unfortunate for him, but he's got a terrible personality :/ can't believe I ever thought he was interesting. He's also brainwashing Shinn, which sucks because that just makes Shinn more annoying for not questioning things or stop questioning things all because his bestie said so. Bah.

I kind of agree with you on Rey's personality. Rey obviously had a great deal of influence over Shinn. That was clearly a factor for why Shinn sided with Durandal.

I found Rey's personality to be very well done. He is the embodiment of the perfect soldier. He follows all orders without question and is completely loyal to Durandal.

One of the things I like about him is that he posses this aura of wisdom and charisma. There's just something about him that makes people listen to him, even his superiors such as Athrun and Talia.

He never forces other people to believe him, but he wins them over to his line of thinking using perfectly logical and rational explanations. This is why I loved the exchange between him and Athrun after Shinn had "supposedly" killed Kira.

^Interesting pov :) Makes me understand Rey a little more. Yeah I agree that he is the embodiment of a perfect soldier, I mentioned it kind of in the next episode discussion that he's determined to make what he believes in happen. I guess why I was so annoyed at the end of this episode was because of his attitude towards Lunamaria. Spoiler for those who may read this...
, but I felt that was extremely rude on his part. Granted, he was probably a little agitated because he was suffering in the next second when he took those pills.

Your comment on Rey possessing charisma is right on. Perhaps that was one of the reason why I thought he was so interesting throughout most of Destiny.

Rey is exactly what Durandal wants humanity to become, good little obedient dogs that never question their master, no free will.

Should we call him Rey or Rau from now on? And Durandal fired the god damn Requiem...he's just as bad as Djibril.

Chairman: Ima firin' ma laser!
I have to wonder about the political situation in the PLANTs... what about the rest of the council?

I thought since the beginning that Rey was a clone or something of the sort.

Looking like Shinn is starting to realize what's going on, but then again maybe not. I'm ready for a big final battle!

Was kinda obvious Rey was a clone when he saw those tubes in the experiment lab and freaked out a while back.

Even when you go back to the first few episodes, you can see that Rey's got the Newtype flash thingy when he senses Mu's presence, which kinda lets you guess that he's yet another La Flaga clone. He also has the same voice actor as Rau Le Creuset and like you said, the lab incident made his identity obvious.

I can't help but feel that the Chairman firing the Requiem was just the writers trying way too hard to make him as bad as Djibril though.

LOOOOOOL Durandal suddenly firing the Requiem (a nuke) to be the obvious bad guy now, of course after the worst bad guy Djibril is dead.

Well, having referred to Rey as Le Creuset a few threads back, after this episode I am thinking maybe I should go back and hide it using the 'spoiler' thing. But then there have been so many hints throughout the season that those two are related in some way, it is hardly surprising.

The fact that they used the same VA for Rey as they had for Rau Le Creuset has been a massive distraction for me the entire show. I mean Rey is supposedly a teenage boy but sounds like a middle aged man. lol.

I am still enjoying this show though tbf. For me, Gundam at its worst is still far more entertaining than a vast amount of anime at its best.

If ray opens his mouth another time, i will explode.
He is perfectly the rapresentation of the world that Durandal wants to create, and it's horrible, the perfect soldier who executes every order without questioning anything.
I'm also starting to think that the fall of junius seven was hiddenly organized by Durandal in order to start his plan, maybe i'm wrong tho.
