Can't judge the movie completely yet until I watch the subs.. haven't read the particular novel used in the movie, but watching the movie I easily got a basic idea of the events that happened, so my impression is that they did a good job on presenting the novel in movie format.. the drama is really played out very well too..

@tsubasalover
after read what you type, what I could say is I agree with you, I think it express the novel well, about konoha's fear(though I only read the translation from B-T volume 1 and volume 2 prologue and volume 2 chapter 1), and I agree too that it seems faster, I think 1 hour and 40 minutes is not enough for bungaku shoujo movie.
the score for this I think, maybe between 7-10 :D people that made this movie did a great job.

That's what I think :)

ah, and I'm a member of this fans club from a pretty long time ago, but what I did only lurking and reading without posting(I think), nice to meet you all :D.
oh, and I watch the subbed version, subbed by Doki, I'm planning rewatching this movie when monokage released this though.

one question from me, do you know the woman that come to konoha's house at the ending? or it's only a made-up scene?

Sorry if my english is not too good.

yeah, you're right, it looks like that person is really is touko,
because my friend in a forum said there'a an error in the translation, the correct one is this:

[0,1:39:56.89: “She’s going to read Inoue Miu’s new novel, right?”

0,1:40:02.82: “Hopefully she will like it”

0,1:40:04.89: “If it’s her, she will surely like it”]

well, there' no other woman that will read the novel except touko, and one other reason is that she said to konoha to let her to to read his novel IIRC.

^^^ makes sense.

well, all's well, ends well... i liked the movie, and it was really lighthearted at some places, and interesting at others. for someone who watched the movie as the first introduction to bungaku shoujo... i gotta say... i am loving it.

I was going to ask if the last part was in the novels.. but looks like it's already answered.. XD

One thing that's bothering me, why does Konoha and Touko seems not to know Chia in this movie?? is the person delivering the drawings in the mailbox different in the novel??

@tinman
I think, what do you mean is why touko and konoha did not recognize chia even though she appears in volume 1 of the novel, well, if that's the question, I think the answer is because this movie skipped to volume 5..(though if this is true, then that means the producer of this movie changed the whole story, I think).

@tsubasa: about my question.. it's the other way around, just like raxar understood..

@raxar: I get the skipping to vol 5 part.. but in the movie I remember Konoha mentioning that the mailbox only received one letter before the 'prank letters' in the movie.. and I assume that one letter is from the events in vol 1..

I think the movie is too fast and the ED is too sudden.The vol.6 and 7 is missing.The OVA describe the problem between touko and her aunt( or mother),but the Movie doesn't slove the problem.
Because of time,the movie focus on the Touko,miu and Konoha.It's hard to say the measure is right or wrong.But!The important scene in planetarium is weakened.Where is the scene that everyone said their dreams. What they said touched when I read the novel.And the event Chia let kononha not die(the place I have forgotten) is also missing.
Remove the Inevitable errors in the story,the art,music and cast is very good.
I think if Production I.G. make the TV or Movie like kara no kyoukai will be better.
(my poor English)
