The Great Forest, home to vast wild life. So large that it is considered to be the second of the school's natural boundaries. Split into four regions, the West is home to a mixture of different animals, many quite dangerous very much like the East. Beware Chimera and Mriswith. There is also a training ground for the Guardians of the Blade.

Triake took the girls across the wild plains of the school grounds to arrive at the forest. He didn't particularly want to fight with territorial vampires and werewolves so he had taken the long route aroun the southern area of the forest until he was sure they were at the border. The elves had given him this part of the forest to have his main camp. In truth, he thought of this headquarters belonging to The Guardians of the Blade as his home. It was natural for an elf to be among the trees... He took a deep breath and said. "It's nice to be greeted by the wind." Speaking to himself in elven.

He beckoned the girls to follow. It had been mostly silent on the way over... he hadn't known what to say to Aimu... how did she feel, she didn't let on. "Be careful there are strong creatures living here..." As if summoned by his warning a shape jumped out of the tree. It had a lion and an eagles head, a leopard's body with hawk talons for front paws, the wings were that of a raven and it's tail was twin snakes. "Chimera! Get behind him!" Triake called as he drew his claymore. He dashed to the side to get the beasts attention while he hoped the other would think to attack it from behind.

"Na-!"

As the beast's attention was on Triake, Aimu pulls the sleeve off her naginata. Fast-moving circular air streams form around her feet and her naginata as she glides over to the area behind the creature as instructed.

She watches both Triake and the beast closely with the blade of her naginata held out in front of her, waiting to see the direction this event is headed in, before making a move.

As they walked through the forest, Molly had to think about her ancestors, the ones who lived completely in nature. She was so integrated with technology and humanity, she could probably not live happily without it! Molly felt a sense of sickness as she thought that, perhaps she should stick to her elven roots.

When Triake warned them about the creatures lurking, she nodded as valiantly as she could. However, the bravery was washed away as she saw the frightening creature fly towards them. She squealed and darted after Aimu, staying close by her. This is your chance! She felt for the knife at her waist with shaky hands. Molly could prove her worth right here and now. Even as she thought that, Molly made no move to go after the chimera. Perhaps it could be solved without a battle.

As Triake moved, on of the snake heads spun around and hissed viciously at Aimu and Molly, the beady eyes on Aimu's Naginata blade. Chimera were always different, each one could do different things and he was remise that the first beast they came into contact with was one so strong. He was tempted to have the girls run and deal with it himself but that would only harm their confidence and make them rely on him more than they needed. First, to find the heads that could see magic. Triake drew wind around his sword edge to keep it sharper than steel, the air flowing out and over the blade.

Triake moved forward and slashed. The eagle head glanced at him and jumped to the side, moving the snake heads within range to strike out at Aimu, leaving Molly as she was no threat at the moment. With fluid grace, a talon lashed out and caugh triake in the short ribs sending him sprwaling into a tree. He landed at the base, causing no harm to the tree... for that he was glad but the Chimera had remained in place as it flapped it's wings at the girls, sending a pwerful gust of wind their way.

Aimu hops back a few times to avoid the snake heads, keeping good distance. So it really was hostile to them as well. She flinches when she sees Triake getting shoved into the tree. She wanted to charge forward and attack, but then Molly doesn't exactly look like she's in any shape to defend herself against that thing.

Standing between Molly and the beast, Aimu wraps her right-arm around the pole of her naginata to point it out in front of her with one hand. She raises her left-hand towards the beast, palm outstretched, and concentrates to part the winds away and around both her and Molly.

She steps back, wondering if the Chimera would follow. She kicks some of the sand and dirt off the ground as she slowly backs away. Many patterns of air currents form and slowly pick up speed in a large area all around Aimu and Molly as Aimu backs up closer to Molly.

"Oi, Timid Girl, you going to be alright?" she asks, noticing Molly's desire to strike.

Molly's eyes grew wide as she saw Triake get smashed into the tree. Chimeras did not seem as scary in books! Up close and personal, they were terrifying. She eagerly allowed Aimu to defend them.

When Aimu spoke to her, Molly realized the hand at her waist to grab her dagger was still shaking and forced it to stop. She nodded and pulled out the knife. But how to get into the fight...? Do I just run up to it and attack? They never explained this stuff in books! Though she seemed poised to attack, she was frozen, in both fear and uncertainty.

Triake head rolled to the side as he tried to dispel the haze from his eyes as his hands shook lightly. The impact had not been kind in any way. His back felt like the tree should have broken. The Chimera watched him as he watched it, normally to fight one, you needed as many people as it had heads. You could keep all of them busy and then start attacking. He threw his claymore at the monster causing it to shift to the side slightly. The movement allowed it's snake heads to get closer to the girls. He swiped his hand sending a small crescent of wind at the animal. One of the snake heads turned towards him and hissed, seemingly unsure where to look before it the Chimera shuffled again. That's the head that can see magic!

All Chimera's possessed a brain that could see magic, a sort of defense against larger creatures, like dragons. It was the most dangerous head because most animals and plants had a small amount of magic flowing through them, so it could be used to watch them, predict where they might go. One of the talons swept his way sending a large fist sized amount of air his way. The snake head watching the girls hissed as it saw Molly's hand move to her dagger and struck out at her, trying to bite her with poisoned fangs while one of the back legs kicked up a large amount of dust at them.

Meanwhile, in another part of the forest. Elven sentinals bar Conan's way. the one in charge speaks, not rudely but with no form of hospitality. "What is your business here?"

From the shadows of the sentinels a figure appeared. Seemingly human he sat down by the feet of a sentinel eating an apple. He was a man of the cloth, even elves saw it as bad form to kill a deity's servant, no matter how severe the crime. His hair became a crimson, marking him as a demon. "Your Lady, sends regards to her folk, for though you have abandoned her, she still keeps you in her bosom" He wasn't sure if they knew her, but it was a message he had been told to pass on, for the sake of good relations.

"Please forgive my friend, he was following his acquaintances and was unaware of how greatly you revere the forest, and the severity of the insult of a foreigner brandishing a weapon in such a sacred place" He looked at Conan, begging him to follow his lead, as he wasn't allowed to kill anyone, or allow someone to die. Damn his father with those commands.

The Sentinel raised a hand and arrows were drawn and pointed at Conan. "On your way... Off our forest ground." He looked to the demon and nodded. "Although she has fallen from grace, we still recognise one of the few who served The Pheonix... His rudeness shall be forgiven and we will not feather him where he stands. As a favour to one who knew someone we once revered."

Sheridan nods "Thank you, will you also allow him to pass? I believe he is following the two elves with the foreigner; who is a human". Sheridan sighs. He really shouldn't have to play ambassador. He looks down at Conan, before appearing behind him, "Look, you're on dangerous ground... the chances are after you head in, you'll be expected to not kill anything, to not attack anything. Keep your blade sheathed and your alchemy under check. For these elves their forests are their temples, so tread carefully... This is just friendly advice... do what you want, I'm not responsible for what happens to you. You're a big boy after all".

He looks around the forest and admires the greenery, his own forest seemed more charred and decrepit. He turns to the sentinel again "Excuse me, Neighbour, might I enter these woods to pay my respects, and admire its beauty?"

He shrugs "I sensed trouble... anyway, I need to get back to Nadeshiko. Hope she's all right" he looks at Conan "Please use your head, some places are the sort where you can't just wander in and out". And with that he disappears.
