Helloha. I'm into all kinds of series, but I have a special fondness for yuri, because of various reasons. I got into anime through an anime/manga club back in the day, and I had a slight bias towards shoujo anime. Then there was a period where watching anime wasn't the most convenient, and I got into shoujo manga. Then eventually I branched into josei and then yuri manga. I think there was a period where I really liked iyashikei anime and manga as well. Over the years, yuri has become a lot more accessible, though it still seems to be not a particularly popular genre.
Since light novels have started getting english translations, I have started getting into light novels as well. Though light novels have a reputation of being not particularly good writing, there are still various levels of quality and density, and there's enough of them that are entertaining enough. These days there seems to be a web novel > LN > manga > anime pipeline, so many of the series that people like come from light novels, which is the web novel, but with fixes and actual editing.
I am a sucker for romance, and especially of the yuri type. I had been away from anime and manga etc for a few years, and when I came back, yuri had become a lot more accessible than before, so I still feel like I am swimming in yuri works, waiting to be explored. This anticipation also works against me, because I feel like I need to pace myself, which ends up with me putting off on progressing with yuri if some other thing randomly catches my eye. Internally I still feel that yuri is scarce and valuable, so I end up going through it slowly.
Lately I have been wanting to get back into shoujo and josei stuff in order to experience again that magic that really pulled me into the hobby. Interestingly enough, there used to be a decent amount of yuri that had a more shoujo-like feeling, but that seems very rare nowadays. It felt like you could have basically a shoujo manga, but the love interest is also a girl. I feel like most of the new yuri tends to have more of a moe or seinen-like feeling, or at least it is very neutral in its target demographics.
I used to diligently add scores to every anime and manga that I complete, based purely on an enjoyment factor, without weighing quality very heavily, but one day I decided that the scores were all arbitrary, so I went and deleted all of the scores that I had set. At the time I also had a pet peeve against people's scoring systems where they came up with subjective whole number scores for individual elements, like animation, characters, story, etc, and then made some arbitrary equation to produce a final score with decimals, and sometimes with multiple places. Sometimes I wonder if maybe I should bring back some vague scoring for my lists, but I dunno. It seems like it would be a lot of work.
An annoyance with MAL is that all light novels are categorized under manga. That means that showcasing your favorites on your profile is split between two categories, and since I started getting into light novels, it would be even tougher to list all of the ones that I enjoy. I remember for a while, I didn't use the space to make hard decisions about what my actual favorites are, but instead just used it to showcase things that I liked, and eventually rotated them, so that new entries were on display. Also, it's not listed in the updates when you increment a manga or light novel by volume read.
Sorry for all this yapping. For a while, I left my profile to be very short and cryptic, but I suddenly felt that I should actually write some of my thoughts, in case someone out there finds it interesting. I know that text might not be exactly in these days, but maybe someone's willing to read it. I might update, or add to this sometime.

I'm quite fond of the Love Live show, so Sunshine was a must watch for me, along with Aikatsu. I love the color schemes, very colorful and light.
