Personally I felt that it was excellent and I gave it a 9 . It's the second series I've read from the same mangaka and the impression is just amazing.

It's in my club "Dropped or untouched manga/anime that SHOULD be scanlated/fansubbed", the scanlators stopped at chapter 4. It has had 2 scanlators done it before... and it really deserves more scanlating. I believe it has been fully published as well, so please join my club and support this manga where possible :D.

Yah, I bought a Jump mag yesterday and read the first chapter. It starts off nice, but the whole thing behind her praying and reviving him was a negative, imo. Not a bad one though, gonna read more of this.

Well it's a little more on the fantasy side that's for sure.

But the reason why this manga is so interesting is its art. Amazing.... the drawings that "Picasso" draws are really art.

Maybe you would wanna catch "Kanojo wo Mamoru 51 no Houhour" if you like this series. That series is by the same author, art is superb too, along with a good story, although it kinda reminds me of a show or manga.... not exactly sure but I think it's highschool of the dead.

Awful. This manga tries to trivialize art, playing on the popular culture aspect (like da Vinci). Would've respected him more if he'd said he wanted to be like Cezanne, or even Dali.

As an artist myself, his drawings are average..they don't stand out very much to me. He uses a typical sketching style, and the lack of difference between his drawings and the mangaka's shows a lack of originality. The manga itself's art is mediocre, nothing special.

Overall, as one who is very much into art, I didn't appreciate his sellout of it. It felt like he didn't really know anything about fine arts themselves, just a high schooler's cliched, anime-weaboo interpretation of them (which I personally detest because of its closed-mindedness). It would've helped if he included some artist in-jokes, but I didn't see any except for the french curves in the title. But that doesn't really count.

Honestly, I thought this one sounded interesting, but not very original. I didn't have very high hopes for it, but I guess it fooled me. The artwork is fairly unique. The only character that I didn't like in volume 1 was Kana, and I expect that she'll grow. I like Picasso, Akane, and Sugiura alot! Fantastic read, and I hope I like volume 2 even half as much. 9
Well one thing I've learned from this experience, is that a princess is still a princesss even when she is naked.

I needed to get used to the drawing style, but I'm totally hooked now.
(I gave it a 9)
The story is a one of a kind, and each chapter is dedicated to a new character.
I can't wait for the next volume!! (feb 2011)

Ohh, I think its a really good story.
Its something other than the most stories, its acually something really new!! And I'm very happy with that ^^ I needed to get used to the art at first, but now I really like it =3 The art is also something new ^^
On top of that is every chapter also really different from each other, but there is an order in it. And yes of course in every chapter there is a problem to be solved, but on a different manner, I think ^^
So for me its al unique in my eyes X3 That also why its my favorite!! Yeey!!

Throw me into the 9/10 group. I 7/10'd it, back when I read the first volume, but after reading everything in one sitting I ended up loving it. I can't wait to buy No Longer Human (same mangaka) later this year, now--his artwork is pleasing for my eyes to look at.

List comment: A superably drawn, surreal exploration of psychologically disturbed individuals. Struck me as repetitive prior to the variation of the artistic problem-solving and strong supporting cast impressing. Sad fairy-love finish. Style, substance + romance.

I thought it was a fantastic read!

Furuya-sensei is amazing. His art is one of a kind, and his storytelling is so genuine it feels like you're reading an autobiography. (And, he pretty much confirms that is was a loose autobiography in the afterword.)

This is my first Furuya-sensei series, but I've already ordered "Lychee Light Club" and will be pre-ordering "No Longer Human" soon. I can already tell he's gonna be one of my favorite mangaka.

This is a definite re-read. I will never get rid of this series, it will have a special place on my bookshelf forever!

9/10

I have just finished reading it and I'm truly impressed. The story seemed to me not very original at first, but I really liked the way it was presented. Also the ending was just perfect to my mind. Speaking of the art it was really something special. I'm definitely going to read more of Furuya-sensei's works!

I thought most of the manga was just meh stuff. But my God the last chapter had me in tears. Beautiful end.

The ending made the manga get an 8/10.

The surrealist exploration of the characters' psyche was well-executed. As a sucker for happy endings, this one was near perfect. Overall a regrettably obscure, but great manga.

Only as much as so many manga trivialize science. Art here is about as relevant as art in any other manga. Picasso wasn't creating masterpieces, just sketches. It was but a gateway to the psychological domains. I dread the day when authors don't venture out of their expertise.

It's okay, interesting enough to kill time, but not special. Each vision is the same, you get characters you don't care about, because you haven't had time to care about, and then their problem gets easily resolved and most of them are forgotten.
