In a nutshell, these girls are still inexperienced both in real world and as witches.

Hell, I think they just need to be organized more especially Yuina. At least they did manage to get it together though.

Entertaining episode again. Our cute witches are doing their best to grant people's wishes.

Hopefully they can find a way to improve their team spirit. All that tension won't do any good for them.

Azu is obviously the biggest nuisance at the moment. She really should fix her behavior.

Azu's attitudes were very horrible. Surely, she had her own reasons and will probably get her redemption arc soon. But, it doesn't mean that she could say bad words or do bad things to others. That's totally toxic.

To all who didn't watch the scene after the Ending which explains why Azu's state of mind is quite dire, please watch that scene. It seems her trauma will be adressed first so the teambuilding will move forward quickly. Though I'm somewhat afraid to get to know what trauma the other characters might have.
Especially Choco's backstory might possibly be EXTREMELY dark?

Either way, Yuina might be put there to have at least one person who doesn't have that much trauma?

I'm afraid as well that they might botch in the next episodes how to handle the characters. Though when considering the trailer, I'm carefully tending to stay on the optimist side XD

One more episode, and my uneasiness about the true colors of this series keeps growing. With the possible wish, and one of the reasons why Azu have a strong personality. The tone is getting darker.

I know she will get her redemption arc but man, they really need to tone down Azu's B factor, it's beyond the simply unlikable level by a long shot. So so far, she hates happy people, friendly people, talkative people, poor people, and fat people.

Seconded. I was about to comment how much I disliked her, but the post credits scene gives some context to her behavior.

I hate how lowly this rated, makes no sense why people would have this so low after a solid premiere episode. Clearly wrong demo is watching. Anyway, great 2nd episode, the girls learning more about what it means to be witches, running the shop and granting wishes and we got our uniforms! They remind me a lot of Prima doll and the more we watch the show, the more it feels like that series as well!

But that ending holy shit dude “I hate fat people” might be one of the craziest lines I’ve ever seen in anime 😭 now everything makes sense with Azu though. She’s a massive bitch because she’s insecure about her weight and needs to take that out on everyone else. The other girls annoy her because they’re presumably fit, so she envies them. Also, seeing rinko get her weight loss wish granted while Azu has to work towards hers pushed her over the edge. Still doesn’t justify how much of a nasty bitch she is to Yuina especially, but I do understand a bit more.

Next week’s episode can’t come soon enough, I wanna see how the girls resolve this and Azu will hopefully start embracing herself and commit to the group. Probably would just be easier to eat less rather than waiting on a wish though lmao

I love Yuina’s cheerful nature—but then there’s Azu, with her horrible attitude. She’s such an annoying brat, it’s hard to watch whenever she’s on screen. That girl seriously has some issues.

Really enjoyed the episode—if I exclude every part Azu was in.

first episode went pretty well, but idk this one is giving me a second thought. starting to seem less and less like a normal mahou shoujo and more like one of those cringe edgelord doom and gloom ones...

I hate Azu so much. I already didn't like her in episode one but this episode cemented her as probably one of the most annoying characters I've seen in an anime in a while. I really hope she gets better otherwise I might drop this show just because of her. I get she has her reasons but she isn't a fun character to watch. Hopefully next episode makes her better.

They can give her all kinds of trauma to do with her size like bullying and harassment, but that's like a bandaid to this overly obnoxious character. Didn't even know what the customers wish was, insulted her in 3 ways at once, and ran out. The post credits actually made her worse for me, as if we should have a bit of pity for her as well just because she has issues with her own weight. It would have been better if they toned her down a bit.

Episode was good and I feel that we’re going into interesting places. I know there’s a lot of issues with Anzu right now, but I’m really glad we got those 5 or 6 seconds after the credits which I assume will be the start of the third episode too for those who didn’t stick around. I don’t like the things she said either, especially since all anime, but especially Shoujo manga has a history of being unkind to heavier people, however if it is used as a stepping stone in character development with grace and respect in the process, then I think it’ll be fine. After all another magical girl team trope is having the one girl who doesn’t really gel with the others at first but then becomes one of the best characters in the show. Specifically, I’m thinking of Zakuro in Tokyo Mew Mew, which I feel has a lot of similarities with this show in the first place.

Next episode can be really interesting, they and we don't know about lady wish, and hopefully they can address Azu problem, like, not every fat person is fat because "they eat like pig" sometimes it's illness, and some it's really unfair metabolism...

@WestOnAndrewAve I agree with you. But then again, it's an anime, the amount of times a totally unlikable character becomes your favorite because the anime dives into her character deeper and then she becomes likable, then few episodes later you don't even remember that she was obnoxious before.

Am I the only one who really digs those outfits? A really nice blend of Japanese and western fashion if you ask me! I know a lot of people don't like Azu so far, but personally I'm still open to seeing her character arc before I make any opinions. With "mean" characters like her, they usually become the most dere ones after their past reveal, afaik.

This episode was much stronger than the first I felt, much better pacing and getting a better look into the characters themselves. Hopefully the show will continue this increase in quality.

Also someone should tell those girls that their high end clothing is just as likely to be made in a sweat shop as the cheap stuff is

@Hirugiku I mean Rei annoyed me in Sailor Moon, but she did have her good points. Though her setting the other Sailor Scouts on fire remains one of the best comedy moments in that show & highlights some of her problems as well. Azu is JUST obnoxious right now.

I’m confused by that after-credits scene. How did her body change? Is there like karma magic outside of the shop, or was she using magic inside the shop to fake being skinny and that’s her real body? I’ll need answers next week.

Edit: After reading the comments, I’m pretty sure she was faking her body in the shop with magic, but it wears off outside of the shop or something.

In all, I get the vibe that this will pull a Madoka Magica on us, which I don’t mind, but I do wish it was clearer in the trailers (because this looks like a Precure-esque magical girl show).

I'm waiting for it to turn into a nightmare. Kero is creepy. "If you fill this gauge I'll make you a witch. All you have to do is grant wishes." What does he want in return for granting all these wishes. He has a zipper on his back maybe the frog thing is just a disguise.

As soon as she said she hates debus, I knew it would be because she's either fat or used to be fat. Three of them didn't look any different when they left the shop, so I wonder if she's the only one whose appearance is magically altered. Perhaps she's constantly under the strain of magicking away her fat while in the flower shop. 🤔

Hopefully the next episode is when she'll digivolve from cunt to tsundere. Still hard to say if it'll be good until we see how they deal with drama.

I usually have a soft spot for the mean girls in anime but Anzu is testing it a bit rn. I feel like I'll grow on her once we get more lore about her so I'll stay patient.
Yuina and Choco are my girlies tho they are so cuuute.

Edit: I feel like the next episode is going more into fatphobia and generally body image. Praying they won't fumble this.

Tbh, it's kinda typical 6.xx rating for these type of all-female cast anime. And a lot of people don't like Azu at all. She's probably a big reason for the low score.

Anyway, at least this is doing a lot better than Classic★Stars (5.54) at the moment. I feel sorry for those boys, lol.

The enthusiastic Yuina thinking that she can still work with the other girls, though others like Azu don't want to get along with the status quo. And as the officiating of the witches' flower business gets underway, Keroppe even gets frustrated over Azu just whining about her circumstances, promoting Yuina...to start the promotion of their shop using magic for flyers, though they don't last long. And where else can they go to promote but in Maebashi, though it's a one-way street until they set some progress.

The leftovers of Azu and Mai not feeling Yuina's vibe to stay behind to entertain Keroppe while the others shell out their promotion, though the former of the 2 girls soon gets a lead with plus-sized model Mitsuba Rinko coming into their space needing a flower bouquet. But with only them 2, the magic only being enabled when all 5 girls come together...or rather, when even one of them falters...which, no surprise, turned out to be Azu herself having a hatred for fat people.

Azu's fat-shaming perceptions certainly are toxic at best.
