Can anyone help me understand why its good not hating but open minded lol First things first, i find this ep as message about cyber bullying and i do find it realistic and important. (So far oshi no ko has been ok nothing major really) BUT I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT SYMPATHISE AKANE AT ALL. Why? 1. i think she's an idiot who cant take advantage of a situation. Like after the scene with yuki (which btw was illogical), akane has already apologised to yuki and she accepts it. Surely, she realises that 'huh, this is my chance to be sort of a yander or a villain esque character' and make this series interesting? 2. her mom asked her twice 'are u ok?' And she doenst reach out to her at all. Like mannn share your burden with your mom or even the manager. I find it hard to understand why she didnt. 3. she's in a dating show, why cant she take this as a step to change her personality? Idk if she was forced or whatever dude need to realise that you have to face it. you want this career, no? I get this shes in her teens i guess but i think its hard for me to sympathise her when all she does is put herself in a bubble and victimising herself. I think its more of me not been in her postion and thats true and im not sitting here saying chill bro or anything because this can happen to other people, but i feel the show could show more of action from her character. Again, i find it this message is realistic esp the jap audiences are very cruel with their comments but man akane lol |

shit take. shes a kid. you're basically saying, "you got depression? just reach out and change yourself."Which is NOT an easy thing to do. Clearly Akane doesnt want the people around her(close to her) like her mom to worry bout her or she doesnt wanna disappoint her and or the company she works for as well as the fact she feels so alone due to basically what seems like the entire world slandering her name. Again she's still a child at the end of the day.ππ Her reaction makes sense its realistic. Some people dont wanna share their burdens and they end up like that. It happens. Its not illogical. |

I mean 1. We saw how much backlash one scratch alone caused, you think it's a good idea to act villainous after that? Try to get even more hated by fans? It's reality TV, as the name suggests it's supposed to represent reality. Who likes assholes and 'villains' in reality? 2. Reaching out to people can be very hard, especially someone as important as your own mom. I've been there, I know how hard it is to be open with your mom. Sure, some people don't struggle with that stuff, but others do, and clearly Akane does. 3. It's just a silly mistake, everyone makes mistakes. Far as I remember she did face the situation by apologizing and all. I don't see why she'd suddenly change her personality because of it. Maybe her dating show persona? But even then, it's a stretch. I haven't really been in her situation so I can't fully judge how well it was handled, but I found the episode relatable either way. Just my two cents. Anyways Kana best girl! |

I also didn’t like akane at the start but after seeing how much she has been through, it changed my mind and in s2 she also improved herself and became confident and comfortable. |

You’re severely downplaying how a teenager would take these things. They weren’t meant to have such a spotlight on their lives not to mention endless criticism over a situation the internet knows literally nothing about. Why would they make a rational decision? Humans rarely do, nonetheless a teenager. Weird thing to complain about I can’t lie. |

I dont know why everyone hating on eps 6, i think its one of the best episode of the series in which we can see the dark side of social media and seeing and in the end sympathies with many young actors struggles when they have to face adolescence where you are the most self conscious about who you are to those around you still trying to figure things out. That can’t be more true in akane’s case in where she know she isn’t the most popular in her theater group and in the reality show aswell and is pushed by the circumstances to be someone who she is not. And if you watch episode 7 aqua touch on it when confronting the director, imagine you have to fend off the entertainment world that is run by ADULTS without anyone protecting them as they just see them as a means to an end (money and popularity basically) So yeah maybe don’t take logic to literally without considering the emotional state of the character in their adolescence but you do you i guess… but i still believe that episode 6 is a great episode and whoever is team kana fight me π΅π΅π΅ |

I guess she just think work hard is everything but she doesnt have the creativity i guess In my eyes being a villain in a show where everyone is trying to find love but theres a character that just love being a troll or a fake to the rest of cast to just being a nuisance, surely thats a refreshing take? Haha Yeah i guess but i still think she shouldve give it a go? You know cuz the mom didnt ridicule or anything |

Haha Yeah i guess but i still think she shouldve give it a go? You know cuz the mom didnt ridicule or anything Well, that's just her personality. She can't really just become more creative. Sure the villain may be a refreshing take, but in reality TV the fans don't really know how much acting there is, they expect people to just be themselves. So if Akane acts like a villain/troll, fans would think she's one in real life = more backlash. Of course the mom wouldn't judge or anything. I think it's more about not wanting to make her worry or something, not sure. |

@PotiPotencia shes an actor, does she think people would just say nice things? i mean if anything isnt she just looking for it? its like going through a jungle where you know all types of creature are out there but you still keep going even when the animal is hurting you. look im not hating it but i feel like she's not dumb to brainstorm ideas on how to be standout. but then again people like her do exist and it sucks. this feels like eating a food while its delicious but you also feel something wrong it. maybe im just potraying myself lol but i do get it tho arghh haha |

Again, i find it this message is realistic esp the jap audiences are very cruel with their comments but man akane lol
She’s a kid dawg, it’s not that deep. Same as another user said, you can’t just be like “oh you’re depressed, just stop it.” Plus the accidental scratch could have cost her job.
@official_brown yeah exactly its nt that deep, why bother with the comments |

Natsude_tanaka said: Can anyone help me understand why its good not hating but open minded lol First things first, i find this ep as message about cyber bullying and i do find it realistic and important. Nice. |

GRG3 said: shit take. shes a kid. you're basically saying, "you got depression? just reach out and change yourself."Which is NOT an easy thing to do. Nicely articulated |

Natsude_tanaka said: @AoiHana_15 i mean she basically finding validation through the internet which was dumb and why continue reading if you keep suffering from it. i didnt liked the type of character she is thats all Because she won't stop thinking about it until she continues to read it? That's why internet bullying is working and there are so many people that commit suicide because of it in real life... |

That’s kinda the point of the forums. You asked the question and I answered. If you didn’t want comments then you may want to do a review next time. |

you clearly have no idea how teenage depression and cyberbullyung works, people on the internet are absolutely ruthless, even tiny mistakes will make people despise you and say awful things, as someone who's dealt with somewhat similar situations to her, she feels very realistic. Sure you can just "turn the phone off" but when somsone says horrible things to you, telling you you're the worst and that you should off yourself, the words continue to linger and eatat your mind, and also considering the pressure of being on TV, teens and child actors especially will get criticized nonstop by the masses. we aren't built for that level of attention, that amount of insults and death threats, it's a very hard and complicated situation, just "getting help" isn't that simple. Plus as we all know, she does change throughout the show. If you are going to make threads like this, I'd highly suggest actually looking into mental health and the different effects it has on people and things like that before going on an insensitive rant. Not everyone can just "get better" or "toughen up" in the blink of an eye, that's not how people work. It's a long and tedious process. |

furthermore, people don't usually just open up about their problems even if a parent asks if they're okay, it's hard to share such burdens and things like that because we worry the person asking us won't understand amd will brush I off. and in general, even if someone does apologize for their mistake, some idiots on the internet will never let it go. it's a lot easier to notice the negative comments than positive ones, even if you get 1000 good comments, the 10 bad one will always sting. |
