Nagi had a tough life without her parents, yet she found a place to belong after meting with Yotaro. It's sad to see that she died after giving birth, maybe due to excessive blood loss. But at least she left something behind in this world that tell us she isn't hollow inside.

I know that Nio's a good kid and kind at heart, but his naivety is that much big. He can't expect to save everyone, they have shown his character mature for his age yet when it come to saving/protecting other he act like a idealist kid. And that makes it hard to watch.

Iroha and Hajime looked so cute together, even if they met each other with the intent for work.

Heartbreaking to see Nagi pass away so soon after giving birth to her child she had a tough life but I hope her child will go on and make her proud.

Man I really thought the baby wasn't going to make it. Then just as that relief came Nagi herself died. Talk about gut wrenching, I cried when they said she's died. After seeing such a heartbreaking backstory of how she was constantly ridiculed and looked down upon. Broke my heart seeing how she died making sure the family lived on, she kept her promise. Nio really went through it this arc. That poor boy had so much taken and nearly died himself from it all. He even tried not facing the repercussions but Kondo did the right thing telling Nio bluntly how everything landed after the battle. Its hard to hear but necessary for Nio to deal with the pain directly. Hajime and Iroha being cute at the end lightened things up at the end but this episode was very painful and sad. Hopefully no lasting scars on Nio heart.

Nagi's rough life from the start, apart from her current situation giving birth to her and Yotaro's child, the allure to be wed to Yotaro is as much strong as someone not being attached to the family by blood. And thankfully, even though the delivery is beset by the baby not responding, he did respond...though at the cusp of her passing out, which greatly affects Nio all the same, leaving the others perplexed about his behaviour since he shown that he got over Nagi's death rather quick.

Isami wanting to push Nio to the breaking point to know what he's truly feeling by laying the raw truth upon him, this is the reality that he needs to accept, except that he tired himself out of a fever. Hajime having to take a request from Nio's sister Iroha to escort the big shot of Anegakoji Kintaro though (since Nio is out), it looks like a simple request, but family being at the heart of it, even she knows that Nio is suffering from the reality that he cannot accept.

Iroha and Hajime just looked good together, though the brother is mainly the focus now.

Looks like next week will wrap this up. Sad about this infant's future, it has no family now, an orphan through & through. That is harsh for this time period.

Anegakouji is a funny guy, I like his personality.

I’m so glad that Nagi gave birth to such a beautiful baby, but unfortunately, she couldn’t handle the stress and gravity of her situation.

That was unexpected! The birth scene dragged on for so long that it felt unnecessary, yet I never saw the twist coming!

Had us thinking Nagi's baby would be stillborn for a moment there. But instead of the child, it is Nagi who dies. All from a jealous brother's grudge, an entire family, their clan, their home, their dojo are gone. Nio, who met Nagi and Yotaro escorting the former on a river, couldn't have imagined it would end like this. Kondo, who had no choice but to slay Yotaro, told Nio what he needed to hear.

Though he looks distant, Hajime goes to Nio's gran place...only to wind up escorting Anegakoji Kintaro at the request of Nio's sister Iroha.

Novels I have read/am reading pending approval: since November 10 2022
